The Patriots give back in Foxborough.

The Patriots brightened the day for a group of 3-5 year-old children at the Hockomock YMCA Kraft Family Center Tuesday while also taking time to celebrate volunteerism.

The visit began with a welcome and comments from Patriots players about the importance of volunteerism and the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation's season-long initiative called "Celebrate Volunteerism."

The event featured current Patriots' players Devin McCourty, Josh Barrett and Ross Ventrone, who visited the Foxboro YMCA Childcare Center to read books and take part in a craft with the children.

The players read out-loud from the book, "Lets Go, Patriots!," where they asked the children to yell, "Lets Go, Patriots" when they pointed to them. The players then asked the children whom the Patriots are playing this upcoming Sunday. The responses from the children included, "The Red Soxs" and "The Patriots." The Very Hungry Caterpillar was also a big hit with the kids.

The "Celebrate Volunteerism" initiative focuses on different volunteer areas throughout the season, with the goal of sharing examples of dedicated volunteers, building awareness of the need for volunteering, identifying and educating others about volunteer opportunities and inspiring New Englanders to follow Myra Kraft's example of becoming a life-long volunteer.
