Foxboro Rotary Club Sends ShelterBox to Japan

Foxboro Rotarians send aid to Japan.

The Foxboro Rotary Club is supporting the humanitarian effort to provide emergency shelter for the survivors of the Japan earthquake and tsunami.

The Foxboro Rotary will be sending a shelterbox, with a cost $1000, to Japan. The shelterbox is comprised of basic camping supplies including blankets, cooking supplies, water, and more. The box provides supplies up to 10 people.

The Rotary Club will also donate $1000 to the Rotary Foundation. The Rotary Foundation is working directly with emergency workers stationed in Japan.

The area of Japan that was hit by the tsunami is an underdeveloped area and shelterboxes are necessary for survival.

Lewis Gordon, President of the Foxboro Rotary Club, discussed the devastation in Japan during a recent meeting.

"This is a pressing issue," said Gordon. "We need to act."
