NCAA Lacrosse Returns To Gillette Stadium

Gillette Stadium in Foxborough will serve as a quarterfinal site for the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship.

Gillette Stadium will serve as a quarterfinal site for the 2011 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship on Sunday, May 22, 2011. 

The NCAA has released its bracket for the 16-team championship. Teams assigned to the Gillette Stadium half of the bracket include Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) members Duke, Maryland and North Carolina; Big East schools Syracuse and Notre Dame; University of Pennsylvania (Ivy League) and Siena College (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).

Winners of #1 Syracuse vs. Siena and #8 North Carolina vs. Maryland at Noon

Winners of #4 Notre Dame vs. Penn and #5 Duke vs. Delaware at 2:30 p.m.

The full 16-team bracket, along with other event and ticket information, is available at www.GilletteStadiumLacrosse.com. First-round games will be played Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15 on the campuses of the seeded schools.

“We are pleased to host this exciting event and look forward to welcoming the four teams that advance from first-round competition,” said event director Phil Buttafuoco. “The New England lacrosse community will undoubtedly get to see two tremendous lacrosse games while enjoying the fan experience at Gillette Stadium and Patriot Place.”

Tickets, which are good for both games, start at $20 and include parking at Gillette Stadium. They are available through Ticketmaster or by downloading the ticket order form from www.GilletteStadiumLacrosse.com. Group tickets (20 or more) can be ordered by calling 508-549-0178.

Harvard University will serve as the host institution for the event as it did for the 2008 and 2009 NCAA finals at Gillette Stadium.
