Foxborough High School Principal to Retire

Principal Theodoss will stay on to see the school's accreditation through.

School Committee chairman Bruce Gardner announced at Monday Night's school committee meeting that the 2011/2012 school year would be the last for Foxborough High School Principal Jeffrey Theodoss.

Although Theodoss is eligible to retire in the fall, former superintendent, Christopher Martes agreed to an addendum to his contract, allowing Theodoss to continue his work on the school's accreditation and to see the project through to the end as allowed under state teacher retirement rules.

The New England Association of Schools and Colleges will be visiting FHS in March as part of the school’s 10-year re-accreditation process.

"He (Theodoss) wants to see this project through to the end," said school committee member Beverley Lord.

School committee members noted that it would have been "an odd time" for Theodoss to leave in the fall.

The contract addendum is similar to the one offered to Martes, where he stayed on as Superintendent for his last year after taking his retirement pension.

The school committee will begin their search for a new principal starting around December.
