Foxborough Class Night: Awards, Celebrations & Recognitions

Together with faculty, family and friends, the Foxborough High Class of 2011 recognized all their accomplishments.

Foxborough High School's Class of 2011 participated in their last school event at Foxborough High. Class Night was held on Thursday, June 9, in the FHS Auditorium. Held annually, Class Night is a pre-graduation event which recognizes the Class of 2011 and all their accomplishments. A number of student awards and scholarships were presented, along with recognition of retiring teachers.

Senior Class President Chelsea M. Laracy welcomed parents, faculty and her fellow classmates to the ceremony.

Following the welcome address, students honored and recognized several retirees. Student Vice President, Connor Foley, recognized Foxborough Superintendent Dr. Christopher Martes for his many accomplishments as an educator and mentor. JoAnna Magnuson delivered a heartfelt dedication to Deborah Petrosh, former Director of Virtual High School and the computer lab at Foxborough High. Petrosh, who passed away in April, truly touched many students' lives. With tears filling student's eyes, Magnuson noted that she knew Petrosh "would have been proud of them [class of 2011]."

Foxborough High School principal, Jeffrey Theodoss, presented the 'Academic Awards.' United Regional Chamber of Commerce's 'Top Ten Students,' Valedictorian Tristan Ballard, attending Duke University in the fall and Salutatorian Leah Duncan, attending New College of Florida, were all recognized for their academic achievement.

Foxborough High Senior Class Officers, President of Student Council and President of National Honor Society were all presented with Student Leadership Awards.

2011 Student Leadership Award Recipients:

  • President -  Chelsea Laracy - University of Rhode Island
  • Vice President - Connor J. Foley - Bridgewater State University
  • Secretary - Emily Nichols - Salve Regina
  • Treasurer - Gretta N. Schaaf - Providence College
  • President of Student Council - Benjamin Alden - George Washington University
  • President of National Honor Society - Caroline Cammarano - Boston College

Over 20 scholarships were awarded throughout the night.

Andy Servideo and Shannon Wasilewski were recognized for all their hard work as the Class of 2011 Advisors.

"Our Time Now," by the Plain White T's, played as the Class of 2011 exited the auditorium for the last time.
