Foxborough's 2011 BIT Auction to Feature Susan Wornick and MAGNUS

Burrell Igo Taylor ("BIT") Auction will take place on Nov. 18 at Showcase Live.

What does a popular local band, a famous TV anchor, and a team of over 80 behind-the-scenes volunteers have in common?  Your kids.

Many of you have seen, heard or been involved with the Foxboro Elementary Schools largest event, the Burrell Igo Taylor (“BIT”) Auction in the past.  And in this day and age when there are a host of valuable events benefiting all kinds of causes, what makes the BIT stand out and makes this annual event so special?  Candidly, it’s as simple as looking out your window to see your children in the backyard, or driving through town to appreciate what makes Foxboro so appealing as a place to live.

The Foxboro school district is fortunate to have such a strong, vibrant cross-community collaboration mentality.  That spirit of support and giving, as shown through the Town’s Founders Day efforts, this past year’s 9/11 dedication services, and in many other venues throughout the community, is rare and a treasure.  The amazing amount of behind the scenes efforts provided by unsung volunteers on a daily basis to make this Town, safer, smarter, cleaner, and friendlier for us and for future generations. This is a community where we are more than just a group of individuals sharing space.

With that spirit of collaboration in mind, the BIT Auction is the place where people from every walk of the community come together in the largest annual event to benefit the three Elementary Schools in Foxboro.  These neighbors, friends, and family donate their time, talents and ideas to bring Foxboro’s children one step closer to supplementary activities to support the academic, musical, athletic and esteem building that the Foxboro Public School System is so well known for.

The event will feature Susan Wornick, from channel WCVB-TV’s Midday newscast chairing the event and joined by the musical talent of the extraordinary band MAGNUS, whose lead singer is a Taylor dad. Held this year at the Showcase Live at Patriot Place, there will be both silent and live auction items that promise to wow.
