Census Leads to Reprecincting in Foxborough

Slight change in voting precinct lines in Foxborough.

The Board of Selectmen voted to approve the map showing the re-precincting of town voting precincts in Foxborough during their meeting on Tuesday, May 31.

The map was presented by Town Clerk Robert Cutler. Cutler explained that the government requires the 2010 census information be analyzed and from there a new precinct map to be created.

According to Cutler, one major reason for the small change was the Lodge in Foxborough apartment complex bringing in 250 residents to precinct 5. Chestnut Green in precinct 3 also added to the slight shift in voting precinct lines.

"The only real change people will notice is when they go to vote," noted Cutler. "The line that you have to go vote in may change."

A few hundred Foxborough residents will be affected and will be notified by mail. A new map will be placed in Town Hall as well.
