Wynn Resorts Releases Proposed Name Of Resort Casino

Proposed name could face conflict.

Updates: Wynn Resorts has since sent out a revised statement that removes the reference to the name.

Does the Lodge at Foxboro sound familiar? That is the proposed name of a resort casino in Foxborough released late Wednesday by Wynn Resorts, the Boston Herald reports.

However, since 2009, a luxury apartment complex in Foxborough already goes by the name "Lodge at Foxboro." Wynn Resorts has since sent out a revised statement that removes the reference to the name, the Boston Herald reports.

According to the Boston Herald, Daniella Cerulli, assistant community director at the Lodge at Foxboro apartment complex, responded to the proposed resort casino name by saying, "Foxboro is so small there’d be confusion with two places named the same thing."

Wynn Resorts also expressed Wednesday its commitment to move forward with the project by releasing new details about what the proposal will include.

The project will include "meeting rooms, convention space, fine restaurants, retail shops, an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, skating rink and entertainment facilities," the Herald reports.

The location of a casino inside the resort, which has many on edge, would be "isolated" according to Wynn Resorts.

"We’ve heard the opposition, and we’ve also heard from many who want to see a conceptual design for the property and hear the details of the proposal before making a decision on whether to move forward in the process. Wynn Resorts is working toward that and we will work with the town to assist with the process in any way we can," said Dan Krantz, director of site development for The Kraft Group, regarding the Wynn Resorts proposal for Foxboro Wednesday.
