Hockomock Area YMCA and Cartridge World Team Up to Sponsor Tech Dump Days

Recycle your old electronics for a good cause on June 25th.

Cartridge World will be hosting Tech Dump Days, an e-waste recovery event, on Saturday, June 25th at the Invensys Foxboro Branch and Bernon Family Branch in Franklin.

Funds raised will benefit the Reach Out for Youth & Families Campaign, which supports friends and neighbors in the community to have the Y in their lives – regardless of ability to pay.

The events on June 25th will take place in the YMCA parking lots from 8:00am-12:00pm in Franklin at 45 Forge Hill Road and from 8:00am-12:00pm in Foxboro, at 67 Mechanic Street.

The public (residents and businesses alike) is invited to attend this event with old electronics such as computers, laptops, printers, scanners, small copiers & office machines, fax machines, televisions, and stereos. The cost to recycle these items will be a $0.25 per pound minimum donation to the YMCA.

Cartridge World specializes in refilling, remanufacturing, and recycling of printer cartridges for homes and offices and will expand their recycling efforts to raise funds for this worthy cause. Most electronic products used in the workplace and homes contain hazardous substances such as lead and mercury. When these products reach the end of their useful lives or become obsolete, some are considered hazardous waste. Hazardous waste may not be discarded in the regular trash, and as a result, a great option for disposal of this waste is to bring these items to collection days and help the environment while raising money.

“We strive to be as active a member of our local community as much as possible,” said Cartridge World North Attleboro owner Sal Schembre. “We’re thrilled to be teamed up with the YMCA and look forward to raising as much money for them as possible for their Reach Out for Youth & Families Campaign, while also helping businesses and residents recycle their electronic waste,” said Schembre.
