Foxborough to Discuss Tropical Storm Irene Response

Town officials will hold a public meeting Sept. 22, 7:30 p.m. at the Burrell Elementary School in Foxborough.

Foxborough officials are holding a Board of Selectmen meeting on Sept. 22, 7:30 p.m. at the .

At the Board of Selectmen meeting, Town Manager Kevin Paicos will present on "lessons learned" from The presentation will review where the major problems occurred and will examine "what worked and what did not work."

Also in attendance will be the President of National Grid, who will answer questions and concerns of Foxborough citizens.

The public will have the opportunity to comment and voice their opinions. Paicos will compose a report from the information gathered at the meeting and submit the report to the State with the town's recommendations.

In addition to discussion on Tropical Storm Irene, there will also be conversation surrounding the town's "budget cycle philosophy" going forward.

Board of Selectmen Chairman Lawrence Harrington said at Tuesday's meeting, that it would be a good idea, while the public is gathered in one place, to discuss the budget cycle philosophy.

"We thought it would be a good opportunity to seek their thoughts and their ideas (the public). Do they feel level funding is more appropriate, or is a level service more appropriate?" said Harrington. 

The public meeting will take place on Sept. 22 in the at 7:30 p.m.
