Foxborough Opens Emergency Shelter At The Burrell Elementary School

Emergency Shelter for Residents will open at 3pm.

Foxborough officials held an emergency meeting at the public safety building this afternoon to discuss the ongoing power situation.

As of 1:00pm, 90 percent of Foxborough is without power, prompting the town to open an emergency shelter for residents. Seniors, veterans, critical care individuals and families without other options are urged to head to the shelter, which will open at 3pm. Hot coffee, food and sleeping arraignments for overnight stay will be provided. Pets are allowed but must be crated. Pets will be in a separate room. Foxborough officials are asking residents seeking shelter at the Burrell School to bring their own pillows and blankets.

Foxborough recently sent out a reverse 911 to residents informing them that a "main circuit line is known to be out." National Grid is working on that line and when finished, a large portion of Foxboro will be energized. They will then deal with individual neighborhoods. A timeline of when the line will be restored is unknown at this time.
