FHS Orchestra Students to Perform Alongside The Boston String Quartet

Foxborough High students will perform alongside the Boston String Quartet at Duxbury Performing Arts Center on Oct. 15 at 7:00pm.

This fall, the Boston String Quartet will present “Xibus”, in partnership with over one thousand secondary students at seven high schools and middle schools throughout America, including Foxborough High School.

The Music Makers Foundation, a non-profit organization, is organizing an education and performance oriented project Xibus Tour for Duxbury and Foxborough High School orchestra students.

The project includes two days of workshops and rehearsals with local high school students, culminating with a performance, where orchestral, band, and choral students from Duxbury and Foxborough High Schools will perform alongside the Boston String Quartet at Duxbury Performing Arts Center on Oct. 15 at 7:00pm.

The Boston String Quartet is a high-energy string ensemble. Since its formation in 2004, the Quartet has been an innovative force in the fusion of ethnic harmonies, rock and roll rhythms, and classical instrumentation.

The concert program will include familiar selections such as Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”, Latin favorites “Oye Como Va” and “Besame Mucho”, and Charlie Daniel’s dueling violins masterpiece, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”.

Concert tickets are $15, and are open to the public.
