Yellow Dot Program for Seniors in Foxborough, Sign Up on Nov. 4

"Yellow Dot" is designed to help senior citizens if they are involved in a motor vehicle accident or a medical emergency while driving.

The Norfolk County Sheriff's Office has introduced to the Town of Foxborough the “Yellow Dot” a national safety program, which is designed to help senior citizens if they are involved in a motor vehicle accident or a medical emergency while driving.

Sheriff Bellotti stated, “this is a national program, which currently operates in 8 states. The program’s participants receive a Yellow Dot decal and place it on the rear window of their vehicle to alert emergency first responders to the medical information packet enclosed in the glove compartment”.

Foxborough residents can sign up for this program on Friday Nov. 4th at the Council on Aging located at 75 Central Street between the hours of 10:30a.m – 12:30p.m. They will have their photos taken and be given a medical information card to filled out and returned.

On Wednesday Nov. 16th at 1:00p.m participants should return to the Council on Aging with their completed medical information card and at that time they can pick up their “Yellow Dot” Packet. Once that is done the driver can then put the medical card in the packet and then place it in the vehicle’s glove compartment while attaching the “Yellow Dot” decal to their vehicle’s rear window.   

Norfolk County Sheriff's Office is offering this program free of charge. The Sheriff concluded by saying “Foxborough is the third community in Norfolk County to avail itself of the program. We are quite excited about their participation we strongly believe this program can save lives”.
