GET OUT: Weekend Events Around Town

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our picks for the activities to hit and new events to explore. We'll feature events from Foxborough and things to do within driving distance.

Where/When: PumpkinFest will take place on Foxboro Common Saturday, Oct. 1 from 1-4pm. The rain date is Oct. 2. The 2nd annual PumpkinFest will host tons of family fun. Pumpkin decorating, monster ball painting, games and crafts, great prizes for their Pumpkin Patch, Graveyard finds, a flea market for adults and kids, and a best Jack-O-Lantern carved by a local business contest. The event cost is $5 per child/$15 family maximum. All proceeds benefit Birthday Wishes.

2. 1st Annual Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds 5K Run/Walk

Where/When: Oct. 2, 8:00am. Proceeds from this event will benefit health and wellness programs for K-12 students at the Foxborough Regional Charter School. Health and wellness programs include Physical Education curriculum, Health curriculum, playground facilities and equipment, recreational after school programming and additional innovative programs that support well being; Healthy bodies * Healthy Minds.

3. Patriots vs. Oakland

Where/When: The New England Patriots will travel to Oakland Sunday at 4:15 PM EDT.

When/Where: Saturday, Oct. 1 - The 21st Rodman Ride for Kids will begin in Foxborough. The ride is a non-competitive cycling tour each fall, devoted to raising money for at-risk children in Massachusetts.The money that is raised from the event is donated to youth-focused social service agencies in hopes to improve the lives and support for the children.

Where/When: Saturday, Oct. 1, 7:30 pm at Gillette Stadium. 

6. Open House at The Doolittle Home

Where/When: Visit The Doolittle Open House in Foxborough on Sunday Oct. 2 from 2-4 p.m. Speak to their staff, take a tour, visit with their residents.

Where/When: Apple picking season is just warming up! Visit the many farms in Massachusetts for a day of picking and fall fun!

Where/When: The Foxborough Varsity Football team will take on Canton away this Saturday, Oct. 1 at 3:00pm.
