UPDATE (May 28th; 12:30 p.m.) -

The Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office is continuing the investigation of a “serious domestic assault” that occurred Monday morning involving a Foxborough town employee and a woman reported to be his former wife, according to reports.

Glenn A Saltis, 49, of 72 Ridge Rd., an electrical inspector for the town of Foxborough, was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault with intent to maim following Monday’s incident, according to police.

Foxborough police received an emergency 911 call at 11:17 a.m. Monday reporting a woman at a Church Street residence needing medical attention following a domestic disturbance on Ridge Road, according to police logs.

Police reported the domestic incident occurred at 72 Ridge Rd. and the victim drove to the Church Street residence for help.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence at 11:39 a.m. Monday with what the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office described as “life-threatening” injuries.

At 11:44 a.m. police responded to Saltis’ 72 Ridge Rd. home to investigate the report of domestic disturbance and shortly after arriving on scene requested Foxborough Fire to assist with the rescue boat for a man in the water at Neponset Reservoir.

That man, later identified as Saltis, was reportedly taken out of the water at 12:17 p.m. and treated by Foxborough Fire, according to police. Saltis was then taken into custody and transported to Norwood Hospital.

Saltis was expected to be arraigned in Wrentham District Court Tuesday but the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office is now uncertain when – or where – that will take place.

“It is now unclear whether [Saltis] will be arraigned in Wrentham or in the hospital,” Norfolk County District Attorney spokesman David Traub said Tuesday afternoon.

A search warrant was issued Monday to collect evidence at Saltis’ home, according to police and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office were initially contacted to access the crime scene.

However, due to the severity of the injuries sustained and nature of the incident, the DA’s office has taken an active role in the investigation, which remains ongoing.

“We are assisting in [Foxborough’s] investigation,” Traub said.
