On the article Foxborough DPW Provides Information on Snow Removal, Plowing and Parking Ban During Storm

ReplyAs for shoveling driveways...if you use your brain a little, when shoveling at the end by the street make sure you pile snow to the right as you face the road. This will help to keep the plows needing to push back from pushing a huge pile back in your driveway, which will happen if you pile it up to the left! Instead, the plow will push that pile of snow past your driveway, not in it! Those guys are out there for hours on end and are not trying to annoy you. They are only doing their job!

On the article FRCS Warns Parents Not to Drop Off/Pick Up Children Along Route 140

ReplyIt would also be nice if people would stop running through the flashing red lights of our buses as we pick up/drop off our HS and Ahern students who live across the street from the FRCS. At least 2-3 times a week this happens even when we blow the horn non-stop at them...with a police cruiser sitting in the driveway of the office building! We make sure to have the students enter/exit the bus on the same side because they would definitely get hit by these people who ignore our lights and zoom past! Please help us out a little Foxboro PD! And folks...it is a $300 fine if they do stop you!!!

On the article TELL US: Should Licensed Gun Owners' Information be Public?
Pat Larkin

ReplyNo! That just opens the door for criminals and crazies to know exactly what houses to target to put possession of legally owned guns in the hands of exactly who you DON'T want to have them! Think people...think! We are all devastated about the tragedy in Conn. but we can't go jumping at things we THINK will work...they won't! When there is any kind of tragedy we all want to "fix" the problem...but it isn't always the case. Drunk drivers kill more people yearly than guns do...let's stop selling alcohol! A plane crash is devastating...but we won't stop flying. The list goes on and on. Our privacy laws prevent even educators and employers from knowing if someone has any medical or mental instabilities...and that is a major part of this whole picture. Everyone wants to jump on the gun being the problem...but it's PEOPLE who are the problem! Don't put out a big ad that says...GUNS ARE HERE...COME AND GET THEM!!!

ReplyIf it does...we won't be able to change it, so why worry about it! Those victims last Friday had no idea their world was about to end, so they were enjoying life moments before. Everyone needs to do that each and every day. Peace to all!

ReplyI'm just tired of the "What are you gonna do for me?" attitude! It just seems like it's never enough! Why can't people just be happy and appreciate what they have instead of always wanting more? It's never enough! That's what's wrong with the whole world theses days...more...gimmee more!!! Be happy for God's sake! The world doesn't owe you anything!

I'm glad you didn't let your newly licensed driver out on the road this morning, but like I said...put them on the buses! We have schedules to make and can't because of excess traffic and bad road conditions...but we HAVE to be out there. All the cars do not! As for the crossing guard, she is not there for the cars...she is there for the walkers and to get the buses in and out. She gets on her radio to see if any other bus needs her assistance. When she gets a response to clear, she leaves to get to her next post at the Ahern. She does one heck of a job and does it in some of the worst conditions! We could all benefit if people understood how difficult excess traffic makes our jobs of getting children to and from school safely and on time!
