ReplyGood advice, Steven. This is an issue in the area. Case in point: the well on a house my wife and I were just going to buy in Newtown had radon levels above state recommended limits, according to our inspector.

ReplyTalked to the Assessor's Office ... it was a typo. It should be personal property. I've made the change in the table in the article. Thanks again for pointing that out, Yooper. Any reactions or thoughts about the list?

ReplyHi Yooper, thanks for asking. I think that is a typo on the document, and my guess is that it should be personal property. I've got a call in to the Assessor's Office to clarify and will let you know when I hear back from them.

ReplyUpdate on the effort to help the family:
According to Patti Lansing, a resident who has been spearheading and organizing the effort to help the Sandy Hook family displaced by the fire, clothing is no longer needed for the victims. Efforts have now turned to collecting gift cards or checks at Dr. Baum's office, located at 23 Church Hill Road in Newtown.

ReplyA statement from Stephen J. Sedensky III, State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Danbury, clarifies what several readers have pointed out as factual inaccuracies contained in the court documents. Sedensky's statement reads, in part:
"The released search warrants were obtained on December 14, 15, 16, 2012, within a short time of the shootings. Subsequent investigation revealed that shootings took place in two of the classrooms, not three, and that the shooter was not wearing a bullet-proof vest, nor was he a teenager."
The full statement may be found at the following link: http://www.ct.gov/csao/cwp/view.asp?a=1801&Q=521714
Given this information, I have corrected the article so that it now accurately reflects the facts as provided by authorities.

According to a report in the Connecticut Post, police believe the suspect may have robbed a Subway in Bridgeport about 45 minutes before the Quick Stop holdup. The Post has an image from a video camera at Subway that shows the suspect without a mask on. You can check that out here:
