In need of some winter fun to start the holiday season? Then look no further than Winter Skate at Patriot Place presented by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. Winter Skate brings one of New England’s time-honored traditions of skating on a frozen pond to Foxborough’s famous venue this holiday season. The 60-by-140-foot refrigerated ice surface at Patriot Place offers day and evening public skating, non-contact hockey and figure skating. The rink also features an observation deck for non-skaters. Winter Skate presented by Harvard Pilgrim provides on-site skate rentals, concessions, bathrooms and free parking. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for children 12 and under and seniors 65 and up.   1. Remember to renew your dog's license by Feb. 29 or face a $20 late fee. The cost is $12 for male and female dogs and $10 for sprayed or neutered dogs. The licenses are through the town clerk's office. 2. Winter Skate is going on at Patriot Place from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Skate rentals are available for $4. The cost to skate is $8 for adults, children 12 and under at $6 and senior citizens 65 and up are $6. If you bring a gently used coat to Winter Skate to benefit Cradles to Crayons and you will receive $2 off. 3. Winter Skate at Patriot Place Presented by Harvard Pilgrim Opens for the Season

Skaters receive $2 off admission by showing their Harvard Pilgrim membership card or by donating a new or gently used coat to Patriot Place’s Cradles to Crayons Coat Drive.

Winter Skate at Patriot Place presented by Harvard Pilgrim is now open for the 2011-12 skating season. Skaters receive $2 off admission by showing their Harvard Pilgrim membership card or by donating a new or gently used coat to Patriot Place’s Cradles to Crayons Coat Drive. Winter Skate will offer public skating from 4 to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 4 to 11 p.m. on Fridays, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and all school holidays, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays. Winter Skate will be open until late February.  Parking is free and concessions and bathrooms are available.
