What's Closed on Veterans Day Monday

Here's a look at what is opened and closed in Foxborough on Veterans Day, a federal holiday.

Veterans Day—formerly Armistice Day—dates back to 1918, when Allied nations and Germany agreed to cease fire on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, Nov. 11. The Treaty of Versailles wasn’t signed until the following June, officially ending the war, but Nov. 11 is generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars.” Along the way, the national holiday grew to become a day to honor veterans from all wars. Veterans Day 2012 was Sunday but many will observe the federal holiday Monday, meaning a lot of people will have the day off from work.
