FRCS' Class of 2013 graduated Thursday.
Fifty-one seniors from the Foxborough Regional Charter School Class of 2013 celebrated their accomplishments on graduation day Thursday with family, faculty and friends inside the school's gymnasium. Johnny Earle, a.k.a. "Johnny Cupcakes," was FRCS' graduation speaker. Other speakers were Valedictorian Katrina Spiezio and Salutatorian Emily Smolinsky. The Class of 2013 was the largest Foxborough Regional Charter School graduating class. The charter school’s after school academic enrichment and late buses end for the 2012-13 school year on Thursday, May 23rd. Here’s some important information regarding regional transportation for next year.
Foxborough Regional Charter School is reminding parents that the school’s after school academic enrichment and late buses will end transportation for the 2012-13 school year on Thursday, May 23rd. As for 2013-14, FRCS said “it is the intent of the school to continue offering regional transportation services,” which is a limited and fee based program. “All students who reside in the town of Foxborough are provided free transportation by the town, please contact the Town of Foxboro School Department for additional information,” FRCS said in a statement. Foxborough students wore their favorite Boston shirts and hats to show off their Boston pride Friday and collect donations for The One Fund Boston to aid Marathon victims.
Students from around the Foxborough School District showed they were “Boston Strong” Friday by wearing their favorite Boston shirts and hats to show support of their city and collect donations for The One Fund Boston to aid Marathon victims. Students at Igo Elementary School were able to raise $682.20 to donate to The One Fund Boston through its special spirit day Friday. “I’m so proud of our students,” said Igo principal Mike Stanton. “The students raised $682.20, which I think will be a little higher once a few additional donations are turned in on Monday.” Ahern Middle School principal Sue Abrams said students were able to raise over $800 for Marathon victims. FRCS students and staff are encouraged to wear red, white and/or blue or one of their favorite Boston sports teams' apparel to school Friday to support the victims from last week's attacks on the Boston Marathon.
Another Foxborough school has declared Friday, April 26th as "Boston Strong Day" and will be raising money for The One Fund Boston to aid those most affected by last week's bombings at the Boston Marathon. Foxborough Regional Charter School announced this week it will be holding a special "Boston Strong" spirit day on Friday to help benefit The One Fund Boston. All public schools will resume class Monday with a moment of silence for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings, according to Foxborough Superintendent of Schools Debra Spinelli.
Monday is Foxborough's first day of school since last week’s deadly attacks on the Boston Marathon and Superintendent of Schools Debra Spinelli said staff is ready for the return of students who may have questions about the tragedy. “Faced with yet another incident of inexplicable violence that has taken the life of another young child and other innocent people, we know we will likely face more questions from our students,” Spinelli said. “All schools will have counselors on hand to talk with children who need support. Hundreds of supporters rallied at the State House earlier this month to lift the charter school cap.
BOSTON - More than 700 charter public school parents, students and supporters, including Foxborough, recently rallied at the State House to encourage their legislators to support a bill that would eliminate enrollment caps on charter schools in the state’s lowest performing districts and create room for more charters across Massachusetts. Wearing “Lift the Cap” t-shirts and sporting “I Love Charter Public Schools” buttons, charter supporters met with their legislators in small and large groups to show support for their individual schools and ask that more charters be allowed to open in their communities. Foxborough Regional Charter School Executive Director Dr. Mark Logan announced the school will conduct a moment of silence for the victims of the Boston Marathon tragedy just prior the Pledge of Allegiance Monday morning.

The Foxborough Regional Charter School welcomed fathers and daughters to participate in the 2013 father/daughter dance on Friday, April 12th at FRCS. The event gave the school’s kindergarten through fifth grade students and their fathers a night of fun and dancing. “Young ladies in grades kindergarten through five and the important men in their lives had a blast at the dance,” FRCS said on its Facebook page.
