Tyler Ames scored five goals and had two assists as the Foxborough High boys' larcosse team beat Silver Lake, 9-0. The Warriors will at Reading High Friday.
Even when the goals were coming in slow for the No. 10 Foxborough High girls' lacrosse team, there was never doubt who was in control during their 9-0 Division 2 East preliminary round win over the No. 23 Silver Lake Lakers, Tuesday, at hime. Against a Lakers team that struggled to maintain possession, it was only a matter of time before the Silver Lake defense was worn out by the Foxborough offense. “That’s a playoff team, so I’m happy with the win,” Foxborough head coach Matt Noone said. “I’m happy with the effort with the heat today.” A goal by Mike Campbell (a goal, 2 assists) gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead with 9:55 left in the first quarter, but then, it was Ty Ames’ five goal and two assist performance that blew the game wide open …

Foxborough came up short in their quest for the state title as they loss to Medfield 11-5 in the semi-finals of the MIAA Division 2 Eastern State Tournament.
There was no doubt that it was going to be a tough game for Foxboro. Going against the Medfield Warriors, Foxborough was going to have to play their best lacrosse of the season if they were to get to the Eastern State Finals. Unfortunately, the Warriors came up a bit short in their quest for the state title as they loss to Medfield 11-5 in the semi-finals of the MIAA Division 2 Eastern State Tournament. It was a tough day for a Foxborough team that was challenged all game long. Matthew Crowell got the opening goal for Medfield as he found the back of the net at 4:18. The goal started the Medfield attack as Connor Rhoddy and Chris Diana scored with three minutes of the initial goal. It would take until the last possible moment of the …

Foxborough defeats the Raiders in an impressive 8-1 win.
Foxborough lacrosse looks like a team on a mission. Playing Reading Memorial High School in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Division 2 Eastern tournament, the Warriors drained the Raiders on a hot afternoon en route to an impressive 8-1 win. Playing against a Reading team that uses a similar strategy as Foxborough, the first half was mostly a slow paced affair. With both teams taking their time to maximize their possessions, shots were carefully taken with two strong goalies in net. While slower, it was a pace that no one on the Warriors minded playing. “I love it. It brings out your best in you,” said Warriors senior captain Connor Whalen. Despite the tight game, Whalen opened up scoring at 2:23 in the first quarter to give the Warriors an …

Foxborough wins 14-0 over the Northeast Metro Tech Knights to advance out of the preliminary round of the MIAA East Division 2 Boys Lacrosse Tournament.
Last week a confident Foxborough Warriors lacrosse team walked into the Hockomock Cup expecting to win. Instead, they walked out shocked by their defeat to Franklin. While the loss hurt, it may have been the wake up call the Warriors needed. “That was the slap in the face, the bucket of cold water that woke us up,” said Warriors coach Matt Noone. In their first game since the Hockomock Cup, the Warriors regained their composure in a dominating 14-0 win over the Northeast Metro Tech Knights to advance out of the preliminary round of the MIAA East Division 2 Boys Lacrosse Tournament. The Warriors went to work right from the start and never gave the Knights a chance. Connor Whalen got the Warriors on the board only 51 seconds into the game …

Foxborough looks ahead to the future after a hard loss to King Philip.
The Foxborough girls lacrosse season came to a disappointing end Monday afternoon. Playing King Philip in their Hockomock Classic crossover game, the Warriors could not capitalize on an early 2-0 lead and lost to King Philip 15-8. Coming out strong against King Philip, Foxborough looked to jump on KP early. Danielle Warner got an early goal for Foxborough that was followed up by another goal from Abby Tepper. The early lead would not last for Foxborough. Making great use their speed, Mallory Knowlton and Olivia Fair quickly tied the game up. King Philip continued to pound on Foxboro with 2 big goals from Kathryn Riley to give KP a 4-2 lead. Scoring 4 goals in a span of less than 3 minutes, it was apparent that King Philip had gotten out of…
