A small crowd of residents joined Foxborough Police and Fire in front of the Public Safety Building Monday for a moment of silence in remembrance of the victims from last week’s attacks on the Boston Marathon.
The wind whipping through an American flag flying at half-mast was the lone source of sound on a sunny spring day in front of the Foxborough Public Safety Building for one minute Monday to honor the victims of the Marathon bombings. A small and solemn crowd joined members of the Foxborough police and fire departments in front of the public safety building at 2:50 p.m. to join Boston and other communities around the state in a moment of silence to remember those affected by the deadly bombings near the finish line of the Boston Marathon exactly seven days later. The 16-year-old girl suffered undisclosed injuries from a fall while ice skating at Patriot Place's Winter Skate Thursday.
If you thought you heard a helicopter flying low over Foxborough Thursday night you were correct. Here's what happened: A 16-year-old girl was released from the hospital Friday after suffering injuries from an ice skating accident at Patriot Place Thursday night, according to Foxborough Fire Captain Ed Noonan. "[Thursday's incident was a] skating accident," Noonan said. "SGirl fell, striking her head on the ice. Long story short she was released [from the hospital Friday] so nothing of significance." Noonan said Foxborough Fire called Medflight because the injury, while undisclosed, was to the girl's head. The man was transported to an area hospital Sunday night after suffering head and neck injuries from a 15-foot fall into Neponset River near North Street in Foxborough.
UPDATE (Jan. 21, 2013, 7 p.m.) - Foxborough Fire & Rescue personnel performed a water rescue Sunday night at Neponset River near North Street after a man leaving Gillette Stadium fell into the water while walking along the nearby railroad tracks. “Gentleman was walking over the tracks after the [Patriots AFC Championship Game], obviously a patron of [Gillette Stadium], and fell off of the bridge, approximately 15 feet into the river below,” said Foxborough Fire Captain Ed Noonan. Foxborough and Mansfield Engines respond.
A plow struck the Stop and Shop on Main Street in Foxborough according to the Mansfield Fire Department, at about 3 a.m. on Sunday. The crash resulted in a gas leak, according Mansfield Fire, and the Foxborough Fire company and the local gas company secured the leak with no resulting complications. Mansfield Firefighters ventilated the supermarket and the surrounding area. According to the Mansfield Fire Department, there was no other resulting damage and the leak was contained and mediated.

Two elderly people were transported to Norwood Hospital Monday afternoon with minor injuries following a two-vehicle accident near 164 East St. Foxborough. “Injuries did not appear to be life threatening,” Foxborough Fire Captain David Healy said. “We had to extricate two parties – one from each vehicle. … They were both conscious and alert and both are being transported to Norwood Hospital for further treatment.” Healy said Foxborough fire received a call for a two-car motor vehicle accident with injuries and airbag deployment around 12:19 p.m. Monday from an off-duty firefighter. “One of our off-duty firefighters was on scene first and reported there was entrapment so we upgraded our response to a full recall,” Healy said. Foxborough Fire responded to a call of an overturned vehicle on I-495 North of Route 1 in Foxborough Wednesday afternoon. The extent of the injuries suffered by the three individuals involved is unknown at this time.
Three people were transported to area hospitals for unknown injuries Wednesday following a two-car crash on I-495 North of Route 1 in Foxborough, according to Foxborough Fire Deputy Chief Steven Bagley. “Two [people] were transported to Sturdy Hospital, one was transported by Plainville ambulance to Rhode Island,” Bagley said. "The accident was in Foxborough … two vehicles were involved.” One of those vehicles was overturned, according to scanner reports while the other was stopped in the breakdown lane. Arcing wires on Main Street caused a power outage that affected 1,021 National Grid customers in Foxborough Friday.
Over 1,000 National Grid customers in Foxborough woke up to no power Friday morning after arcing wires caused a “circuit to pop” on Main Street, according to Foxborough Fire Chief Roger Hatfield. “National Grid was on scene and it sounds like [the arcing wires] popped the circuit,” Hatfield said. The power outage took place at 6:29 a.m., according to National Grid’s website and affected 1,021 customers in the area of Main Street. Estimated restoration, according to National Grid was 8:45 a.m., but Hatfield informed Foxborough Patch just before 8 a.m. the power was back on in the area. The Foxborough Fire Department assisted with Friday's accident on I-95 in Sharon.
A two-car crash on an Interstate 95 ramp in Sharon left one person with minor injuries Friday, according to Massachusetts State Police. The incident happened at 11:35 a.m. on the I-95 North ramp at Exit 9, state police said. Sharon, Foxborough and Walpole firefighters responded to the incident. An ambulance transported one person to Norwood Hospital in Norwood. A Sharon fire official said the ambulance was from Walpole, while state police said it was a Sharon one. The cause of the crash is under investigation, state police said.

Foxborough Fire Chief Roger Hatfield says an investigation into Wednesday’s mobile home fire at Norfolk Park on Washington Street shows no clear cause of what happened.
The amount of fire damage done to a mobile home at Norfolk Park on Washington Street in Foxborough Wednesday has left the Foxborough Fire Department without answers to what happened. Foxborough Fire Chief Roger Hatfield said the investigation of Wednesday’s fire ended with no clear cause. “Due to the amount of damage and debris, we were not able to determine exactly what the cause of the fire was, but it definitely wasn’t suspicious,” Hatfield said. With the investigation over, Hatfield said his thoughts go out to the Albuit family, who owned the doublewide mobile home at Unit 25 of 131 Washington St. “There was only one gentleman living here and I would speculate he’s staying with family,” Hatfield said.
