Hillers Edge Out Foxborough From Tennis Playoffs

The Warriors suffered their first loss of the season and were eliminated from postseason play by a score of 3-2.

Not even rain could stop the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional Championship for girls’ tennis. Originally scheduled to take play at Medway High School, the match was moved to the indoor courts of the Kingsbury Club in Medfield. With no choice but to play inside, the Warriors faced their toughest challenge in a strong Hopkinton Hillers team. The Hillers proved to be too much as the Warriors suffered their first loss of the season and were eliminated from postseason play by a score of 3-2. With only four courts to play on, one match would have to go on last. Using a coin toss to decide which match would play last, Hopkinton won the toss and was able to put a singles match on last.  The decision allowed for two singles matches and two doubles …

Foxborough Boys' Tennis Comes Up Short Against Canton

Foxborough falls 3-2 against Hockomock rival Canton.

The sun peeked out from beneath the clouds Thursday just in time for the Foxborough's boys' varsity tennis match against Canton. However, even with sunny skies and low wind, the Warriors strong match play snapped with a 3-2 upset loss to Canton. Foxborough will head back to the courts Monday afternoon against Sharon.

Foxborough Girls Tennis Team Remains Undefeated

Foxborough dominated the Hockomock League Tuesday with a 3-2 win over Stoughton.

The undefeated Foxborough girls tennis team continued to dominate the Hockomock League Tuesday afternoon with a 3-2 win over the Stoughton Black Knights. Once again the singles matches went 3-0 in favor of the Warriors. Alana Prinos, Hallie Young, and Emma Prinos all went 6-0, 6-0 against their opponents. Never looking out of control, all 3 players looked comfortable keeping their individual undefeated streaks alive. “They call them the big 3 because they’ve stepped up in a big way for the team. We rely on them a lot,” said Warriors head coach Peter Prinos. In the doubles matches, Stoughton took both matches against the Warriors. Foxborough Boys Tennis Falls to KP, 1-4

Foxborough boys' tennis face challenging net play by KP.

Foxborough boys' varsity tennis faced off against King Phillip yesterday, April 27, at home. Both teams spent yesterday afternoon battling through windy conditions on the courts. However, in the end, KP pulled out the win by dominating Foxborough at the net. Final score: Foxborough 1 - KP 4. Foxborough Boys Tennis Falls to Attleboro

Foxborough tennis fails to make the ace over Attleboro today, losing 5-0.

The rain was able to hold off long enough today to get in Foxborough's boys' varsity tennis match against Attleboro. However, even with clear skies, the Warriors faced trouble at the net and ended up losing to Attleboro 5-0. Foxborough Girls' Tennis Wins at Sharon 4-1 ‎

Swept the three singles matches to beat Sharon on Thursday, April 14.

Visiting Foxborough swept the three singles matches to beat Sharon, 4-1, in varsity girls tennis Thursday. It was Sharon (2-1)'s first loss of the season.   "They (Foxborough) have some great teams there, and some great players. It was a good match, though," Sharon head coach Dianne Micheroni said. "We look forward to playing them again next time, and who knows what will happen?" Thursday, in first singles, Foxborough junior Alana Prinos defeated Sharon junior co-captain Melissa Yuan, 6-0, 6-1.
