Members of the Foxboro Jaycees decorated the Common for the holidays last Saturday.

With snow lightly falling, the Foxboro Jaycees welcomed the holiday season to Foxborough with its annual Decorating the Common. The Jaycees decked the Common in lights, garlands, bows, wreaths, and set up the Nativity Scene inside the Gazebo. Ways to Volunteer in Foxborough for the Holidays

There's no better time to give back to your community than the holiday season.

Foxborough is a community built on volunteerism and what better way to volunteer in Foxborough than by giving back to others and spreading holiday cheer and warmth in town. Donating your time or giving a special holiday gift to a family or child in need can make a big impact. There are lots of ways to help make the holidays truly special for those who are less fortunate. You can pack a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child, adopt a family through The Salvation Army or donate to Toys for Tots. Around Town: ‘Tis the Season for Volunteering, Taylor Swift Concert Hearing Continued, Caroling on the Common and More

Here's a brief roundup of Foxborough news and information gathered from Tuesday’s Board of Selectmen meeting.

The scheduled public hearing regarding the Taylor Swift concerts scheduled for Gillette Stadium in July was continued to Dec. 18 at the request of the Kraft Group. Board of Selectmen chair James DeVellis said he received an e-mail from Dan Murphy of the Kraft Group Tuesday evening requesting the public hearing be continued. Selectmen unanimously granted the request. Selectmen Recommend No Action on Article 5 of Special Town Meeting Warrant Selectmen approved a motion to recommend taking no action on Article 5 at the Dec. 11 Special Town Meeting. Aug. 7 is ‘National Night Out’ on Foxboro Common

Foxborough families will hit the town common on Tuesday, Aug. 7 for the "29th Annual National Night Out," a unique crime and drug prevention event.

On Tuesday, Aug. 7 the Foxborough Police Department and Foxboro Jaycees will be holding the 29th annual “National Night Out” on Foxboro Common from 6 to 9 p.m. Residents are invited to gather on the Common and participate in the national unique crime and drug prevention event. National Night Out involves over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. Last year, over 37 million people were expected to participate in ‘America’s Night Out Against Crime.’ National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the Foxborough Police Department and Foxboro Jaycees. Weather Forces Thursday’s Concert on the Common to Waxy O’Connor’s

Thursday’s concert will be held from 7-9 p.m. inside Waxy O’Connor’s at 121 Main St.

The threat of severe weather, including thunderstorms this evening has forced Thursday’s Concert on the Common to be moved indoors to Waxy O’Connor’s. The Foxboro Jaycees’ concert, featuring MAGNUS and sponsored by Rodman Ford is free and all ages are welcome.
