One was a white male wearing a red shirt and jeans. The other was a black male wearing a dark colored jacket. The two males proceeded to the front display case and placed approximately 20 assorted bra's ($55.00 a piece) into a Eastern Mountain Sports bag and then left the store without paying. "Foxborough Schools Past and Present" is the 2012 Founders Day theme.
The Foxborough Founders Day Committee recently announced the 2012 theme - "Foxborough Schools Past and Present." Founders Day in Foxborough is a wonderful celebration of civic pride and a chance for the entire community to come together for a day of fun, food and service. Foxborough-based organizations and businesses are encouraged to build upon this year's theme when preparing their entries for the parade. Helping to make Founders Day a success is a true community effort. Each year, local businesses and individuals contribute cash donations to cover the various celebration costs, including fireworks. Ms. Jennifer Tanner, a Spanish Teacher at The Sage School, has been selected as a recipient of a fellowship administered by the American Councils for International Education, a division of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (partner organization of the Commission for Educational Exchange - Fulbright Commission) of the U.S. Department of State. Tanner, who is also Sage’s Foreign Language Department Chair and Secondary School Placement Coordinator, will travel to Uruguay for two weeks in July. This particular grant is an educator exchange, and as a reciprocal component, this week, Sage welcomes Ms. Leticia Collazo from Uruguay. She will be in the U.S. and at The Sage School until Feb. 16. Students to attend school April 6 due to the water main break on Dec. 12.
The Foxborough School Committee has scheduled the make-up day for students at the Igo Elementary School. Students will have to attend school on April 6 - Good Friday - in order to make up the school day which was canceled due to a water main break Dec. 12. "I would understand completely if parents wanted to keep students home because it is a religious observance," Superintendent Debra Spinelli told school committee members Monday night. All of Igo's staff was consulted about scheduling the make-up day, and the consensus was that Good Friday would be the best day, Spinelli said.
