Boyden Library Readies for Move; Expected to be Closed June 20 to July 15

Boyden Library services expected to be suspended from June 20 to July 15th while materials are moved into renovated building.

As the Boyden Library’s renovation project nears completion the staff is set to begin the move from its current space at Chestnut Green back to its Bird Street location. “The library is getting very close to being ready to be opened,” said Jeffery Lovely from the Friends of the Boyden Library. “We’ve had some construction delays but the project is going pretty well.” The library at Chestnut Green is set to tentatively close on Thursday, June 20 to begin the move back to Bird Street and all library services will be suspended until July 15th. According to the Boyden Library’s Facebook page, the staff is planning to reopen in its newly renovated and expanded library in mid-July. Boyden Library Expected to Reopen this Summer

Foxborough’s Board of Selectmen toured the Boyden Library on Bird Street Tuesday and received an update on the project’s construction.

Foxborough’s Board of Selectmen got a sneak peek at the renovation of the Boyden Library Tuesday and came away impressed. “It’s a fabulous building,” said Foxborough Board of Selectmen James DeVellis. “There’s something in there for the seniors, young adults, the children, general public and a meeting room.” DeVellis and his fellow board members participated in a 45-minute walk-through and tour of the Boyden Library prior to Tuesday’s meeting at Town Hall. Foxboro Federal Savings Donates $50K to Boyden Library's Capital Campaign

Foxboro Federal Savings president Dennis Parente and staff presented Boyden Library director Jerry Cirillo with a $50,000 check for the Boyden Library Capital Campaign.

The progress of the construction and renovation at the Boyden Library is following on its blog.

  The Boyden Library construction project has its own blog site to keep people up-to-date on what is going on. Frank Spillane, a trustee of the library, provided the information on the current state of the project. The Boyden Library Board of Trustees and the town of Foxborough held the Boyden Library groundbreaking ceremony on Jan. 28.

The Boyden Library groundbreaking ceremony took place on Saturday, Jan. 28. The Boyden Library Board of Trustees, in conjunction with the Permanent Municipal School and Building Committee, invited the community to the ceremony, kicking off the expansion and renovation of the Boyden Library.
