Foxborough Schools Won’t Make Up Snow Day on Good Friday

Foxborough Schools Superintendent Debra Spinelli said schools will not be in session on Good Friday, March 29.

While many school districts around the state are adding a day of school on Good Friday to make up for the excessive amount of snow days this winter, Foxborough Public Schools will remain closed for the religious holiday. “We will not be in session on Good Friday,” said Foxborough Schools Superintendent Debra Spinelli. “Our last day of school is now Tuesday, June 25.” Spinelli said unlike other school districts that will be in session on Good Friday, Foxborough has not exceeded its five allotted snow days. “We have used exactly five snow days, which are built into our calendar, so we have not yet gone beyond the five allotted snow days that are planned as part of the calendar,” Spinelli said. “Were we to go beyond the five planned snow days…

When is the Last Day of School in Foxborough?

Find out how last weekend's blizzard impacted Foxborough's last day of school.

As of Feb. 17, Foxborough Public Schools have used four of its five cancellation days, meaning the new last day of school is Monday, June 24. Foxborough's last day of school was originally scheduled for June 18 but school officials added five additional days to the end of its calendar in the event of cancellations, as required by the state. To date, Foxborough has issued four cancellations. Schools were closed for two days in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy due to mass power outages in town and were recently closed for two days because of Blizzard 2013. Foxborough High School seniors' last day is still scheduled for May 31. Graduation is still set for June 9th.
