U.S. Rep. Markey Says He'll Run for Kerry's Senate Seat

After hinting that he'd make a run for Sen. John Kerry's seat should he be tabbed to be Secretary of State, U.S. Rep. Ed Markey will run for Senate in 2013, according to a Boston Globe report.

After hinting that he'd make a run for Sen. John Kerry's seat should he be tabbed to be Secretary of State, U.S. Rep. Ed Markey will run for Senate in 2013, according to a Boston Globe report. Markey, 66, is the first prominent candidate to announce he'll make a bid for Kerry's seat, which will be filled through a special election next summer, according to the Boston Globe. On Dec. 17 Congressman Markey told reporters at Malden City Hall that he'd "seriously consider" vying for Kerry's Senate seat.
