Police Chief: UMass Crowd ‘Well Behaved’ at Gillette Stadium

The following incidents were reported by Foxborough Police at last Saturday’s UMass Amherst football game against Indiana at Gillette Stadium.

Foxborough Police Chief Edward O’Leary said the crowd at Gillette Stadium for the debut of The University of Massachusetts football team last Saturday was small but “well behaved.” Foxborough Police reported one arrest and three protective custodies during the event that saw a crowd of fewer than 15,000 at Gillette Stadium. In fact, police handled more calls about a low-flying US Air Force C-5 Galaxy Cargo plane that was flying over the stadium Saturday than they did incidents reported from the game. The UMass Minutemen lost its home opener at Gillette Stadium, Saturday 45-6 to Indiana. UMasss’ next home game in Foxborough will be Sept. 29 vs. Ohio.
