George's Barber Shop in Foxborough has a Real Man's History

Owner George Bentley shares his life experiences and how he came to set up shop in Foxborough.

George Bentley, the owner of George’s Barber Shop, has been in Foxborough for more than 15 years but he’s well-versed in many professions. “I did all kinds of things,” he said. Bentley said he had been a bar owner in Costa Rica during the mid 1970s and then worked on rigs for Exxon doing exploratory drilling for uranium. It was there that he saw a particular barber shop in Wyoming that made him think drilling was not what he wanted to do with his professional life. “It struck me as a nice way to make a living,” he said. “When I was in Wyoming, I went to a barber shop and said some day when I settle down that’s what I’m going to do.” Bentley, originally from Weston, said he went to barber school after drilling and has been doing it ever …

As if that wasn't enough for Patriots fans to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, the team set a franchise record for points scored in a quarter with 35 in the second. Quarterback Tom Brady had another big day, completing 18 of 28 passes for 323 yards and three touchdowns, including an 83-yard completion to …

Season Openers Still Get Tom Brady 'Excited' in 13th Year

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady met with media Wednesday to talk about Sunday's season opener in Tennessee and how he's gearing up for his 13th NFL season.

It's hard to believe New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is set to begin his 13th NFL season – 12th as the team's starter – at the ripe old age of 35. Despite getting long in the tooth by NFL standards, the New England icon continues to rank among the best signal callers in the game year after year and play with the enthusiasm of a hungry, 20-somethings rookie out to silent his critics. Brady is just as excited to start his 13th season as he was when he entered the league in 2000. The Patriots' quarterback met with media Wednesday and touched on several topics, including his offensive line, lack of preseason reps with receivers Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd and seeing three close friends and teammates – Deion Branch, Brian Hoyer and …

Patriots Lose Second in Row By Way of Deja Vu

The Patriots hosted the New York Giants and lost the game, their chance for Super Bowl revenge and perhaps lost their way. Is this who they are?

The Patriots game on Sunday against the New York Giants can easily be described as a "team loss."  Most teams will say you lose and win as a team, but none more so than the Patriots game against the New York Giants.  It was a game that gave the Patriots a chance to rebound from a tough loss to the Steelers last week, and in a sense, gain some revenge on the Giants for ruining the Patriots hopes of a perfect season back in February 2008.   The game didn't start out well for either team offensively.  In fact, th Patriots and Giants both played poorly in the first half.  The game was scoreless at halftime; tthe first time this has occurred so far in the 2011 NFL season. The second half was not much better for the Patriots and included fumbles…

Patched Into Gillette For The Return Of The Giants

The New York Giants travel to Gillette as the Patriots host the team that derailed their hopes of a perfect season in Super Bowl XLII.

Media day at Gillette had a different feel to. It could have been for a number of reasons including the loss to the Steelers on Sunday, the return of the New York Giants or the reported incident allegedly involving Julian Edelman.   One way or another, the Patriots put aside the loss to Pittsburgh and did their best to deflect the media avalanche that has resulted since the alleged incident involving Edelman. Bill Belichick took the podium to address the media. "On to the Giants, a real good Football team. Obviously defensively, very strong pass rush, good pass defense. Offensively, good quarterback, good receivers, good offensive line, good backs. They make plays in the kicking game, good returners, good coverage players, and you know Tom…

Patriots Get Turned Upside Down By The Steelers, 25-17

The Patriots traveled to Pittsburgh and lost a big game to the Steelers. The loss brought the sky high Patriotss back down to earth and into a crowded AFC.

There is one thing abundantly clear after the Patriots dropped a big AFC game to the Steelers on Sunday; There is not one single dominant team in the AFC this year. The usual suspects of dominance in the AFC have all had inconsistent years so far in 2011.  The Ravens were thrashed by the sub-par Jaguars last Sunday night only to rebound with an incredible comeback victory this week against the Cardinals. The Steelers have had so many up and down games, you never know who is going to show up. The same can be said for the 2011 New England Patriots at this point. After a near death escape against the Cowboys two weeks ago, the Patriots, who had a chance to not only distance themselves from several teams in the AFC with a victory over the …
