Hillers Edge Out Foxborough From Tennis Playoffs
The Warriors suffered their first loss of the season and were eliminated from postseason play by a score of 3-2.
Not even rain could stop the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional Championship for girls’ tennis. Originally scheduled to take play at Medway High School, the match was moved to the indoor courts of the Kingsbury Club in Medfield. With no choice but to play inside, the Warriors faced their toughest challenge in a strong Hopkinton Hillers team. The Hillers proved to be too much as the Warriors suffered their first loss of the season and were eliminated from postseason play by a score of 3-2. With only four courts to play on, one match would have to go on last. Using a coin toss to decide which match would play last, Hopkinton won the toss and was able to put a singles match on last.
