Pat Larkin: "The roads were pretty bad early on, but as the trucks got out there they got better. We (bus drivers) just go slow and don't worry about being late ... safety …

Foxborough's Department of Public Works issued a statement Thursday to inform residents of the town's parking ban and snow removal and plowing procedures.
With the current weather forecast for Friday predicting over 12 inches of snow, Foxborough's Department of Public Works has issued the following statement on the town's website: "We have not had a storm like this in quite some time. All residents should be aware that deep snow requires the DPW to open up roads initially, and later to push back the drifts to the curb. If we do not push back, there will be no room for the additional snow." The DPW also addressed a common complaint from residents regarding clearing the end of driveways. "People frequently complain that …

The timing of Wednesday morning's snowstorm made for a slow and frustrating ride to work for many commuters.
A morning storm covered Foxborough with nearly three inches of snow, making for a long and frustrating ride into work for many commuters. “Took 50 minutes to get to Dedham by way of Route 1 at 6:15 this morning,” said Andrea Brown on Foxborough Patch’s Facebook page. Other Foxborough Patch readers described the roads as “slippery” and “wet” during the morning commute. “Took an hour to get to Milford [on 495],” said reader Shannon Hodge. Reader Jenn Emery added it took over two hours to get to West Roxbury because of the slow-moving traffic. Other readers expressed frustrations that plows were not out sooner clearing local roads. “Were all the Foxborough plow drivers sleeping in?” asked Patch reader Raquel L. Auriemma. “Didn't look like …

We have schedules to make and can't because of excess traffic and bad road conditions...but we HAVE to be out there. All the cars do not! As for the crossing guard, she is not there for the cars...she is there for the walkers and to get the buses in and out. She gets on her …   more ›
