The Perils of Shoveling

Research suggests that no age group is spared from "Shovel related injuries" in the US.

Winter has arrived. As the snow falls and heavy slushy shoveling conditions increase, I decided to give Patch readers the run-down on "shoveling techniques", according to scholars who've actually studied the safest ways to shovel! For those of you who have yet to develop your own shoveling safety techniques, please feel free to read on.  For those of you who have been shoveling for decades, read on as well.  As it turns out, most of us are mostly shoveling the wrong way!
