Fourteen heroes from the Newtown, Conn. Police Department, including each of the first responders to Sandy Hook Elementary School, were guests of the Kraft family for last Sunday's playoff game at Gillette Stadium.
It’s been just over a month since the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. shocked the nation but the memory of the 26 dead, including 20 children, lives on in Foxborough. The New England Patriots still wear the black-ribbon decals they donned prior to their Dec. 16th game against the San Francisco 49ers for Newtown, Conn. After days of silence, the National Rifle Association has released a statement on the tragic shooting in Newtown, Conn., saying it will make "meaningful contributions to help make sure this never happens again." Local and state police in Newtown, Conn., were called to an elementary school at about 9:30 a.m. Friday morning after a gunman allegedly opened fire at the school.

NEWTOWN, CT -- Connecticut police said Friday afternoon that 26 people, including 20 children, were killed at an elementary school after a gunman opened fire. Another adult was killed at a second location. The Scene Police in Newtown were called to the Sandy Hook School at about 9:30 a.m. after receiving a 911 call Friday morning.
