Warner S. 'Skip' Chandler, Jr. Dies at 80; Worked for Foxborough Water Department for Over 30 Years

Chandler, Jr. proudly served his country in the United States National Guard Reserves and was a legendary storyteller.

Warner Smith “Skip” Chandler, Jr., 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Rhode Island Medical Center surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the son of the late Warner and Dorothy (Bell) Chandler. Skip was born in Portland, Maine on July 17, 1932. He was a graduate of New Gloucester High School and Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine. He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard Reserves. He and his wife Helen were married at St. Mary’s Church in Foxborough on June 24, 1961. Skip worked for the Foxborough Water Department for over 33 years, retiring in 1995 and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6063 in Foxborough. Rosario (Carrion) Santos was a former longtime resident of Foxborough.

Rosario (Carrion) Santos, 51, a former longtime resident of Foxborough, passed away on April 2, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the daughter of Herminia (Hernandez) Carrion of Yulee, FL and the late Jesus Carrion. Rosario was born on July 1, 1961 in Boston. She was a graduate of Foxborough High School. Rosario married her husband Richard Santos at St. Mary’s Church in Foxborough on Dec. 8, 1979. She was employed as an inspector for Telco in Norwood. Rosario was a talented seamstress, artist, and certified Doll maker/instructor. She also loved fashion and dancing. Beloved wife of Richard Santos. Mary Louise Burke Dies at 93; Foxborough Resident for Nearly 45 Years

Burke found Foxborough to be the "perfect place to raise her children."

Mary Louise Burke, 93, wife of the late James A. Burke and daughter of the late Frederick and Helen Martin, was born in Attleborough on March 18, 1920. She was a graduate of Attleborough High School, class of 1938, and the Massachusetts College of Art, class of 1941. Shortly after graduating from Massachusetts College of Art, she was asked to join the war effort, drawing bomb schematics. Although a fashion illustrator, while at Mass Art she took mandatory mechanical drawing. Once the war broke out, there were few trained technical drawerers. So, in support of the war effort, she moved to Baltimore and worked for GTE Sylvania. After the war, she returned to Boston working as a fashion illustrator, until she met her future husband, James. …

Catherine C. Curtin Dies at 97; Leaves Family in Foxborough

Funeral services for Catherine "Kay" C. Curtin will be held Monday, March 18 at 9 a.m. at Roberts & Sons Funeral Home followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church.

Catherine “Kay” C. Curtin, age 97, died on March 9, 2013 at her brother’s home in Foxborough. Kay was the daughter of the late Thomas P. and Anna (O’Connor) Curtin. Kay was born on Oct. 1, 1915 in Boston, and was a native of Mission Hill. She was employed for several years as an office manager for the former DeMambro Company of Boston. Kay was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed reading. She loved to help her elderly neighbors in the Flynn Building where she lived. Kay was devoted to her family. Loving sister of Harold Curtin of Foxborough. Sister of the late Dorothy DePalmer and John Curtin. Devoted aunt of many nieces and nephews.
