From London to Foxborough – Patriots Sign Olympic Sprinter Jeff Demps

The New England Patriots confirmed multiple reports Friday when the team announced the signing of Olympic sprinter and former Florida Gator Jeff Demps.

Jeff Demps is taking his Olympic track speed from London to the gridiron in Foxborough. The New England Patriots officially announced the signing of Demps, a member of the 2012 US Olympic roster and 4x100 meter relay team that won a silver medal in London, according to a press release issued by the team. Friday night's announcement confirmed multiple reports that surfaced earlier in the day regarding the addition of the rookie free agent running back. In addition to Demps Olympic success in track, the 22-year-old played in 51 games with 27 starts during his college career at Florida, according to the press release. The 5-foot-7, 191-pounder finished his career with 367 rushing attempts for 2,470 yards for 6.7-yard average with 23 rushing …

VIDEO: Proposed Casino Sends Demonstrators to Gillette Monday

Residents who opposed and supported the idea of a casino across from Gillette Stadium lined Route 1 Monday

Opponents and proponents of a proposed $1 billion casino lined Route 1 Monday at Patriot Place with signs in hand. The demonstrators arrived in response to news last week that Patriots owner Robert Kraft is in discussion with Las Vegas developer Steve Wynn about building the casino on approximately 200 acres across from Gillette Stadium and Patriot Place. The Foxborough planning board will meet Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Ahern School. *Correction: Foxborough's town meeting will be held Monday night. The casino will not be discussed.

Gillette Stadium's New Putnam Club Unveiled

The new Putnam Club at Gillette was unveiled by Robert Kraft and Putnam CEO Robert L. Reynolds.

The brand new Putnam Club was unveiled to the Media August 30 by Patriots Owner Robert Kraft and Putnam Investments CEO and President Robert L. Reynolds. Kraft and Reynolds gave a tour of the new Club, showing the view, the amenities, and touching on a variety of subjects. In August, it was announced that Putnam Investments and the Kraft Sports Group made a long-term brand partnership for Gillette Stadium. In an official release, Reynolds said, "under the inspiring leadership of Robert and Jonathan Kraft, the New England Patriots have earned a reputation for success that is as powerful off the field as it is on. Brady Starts, Ochocinco Scores In a Win Over the Buccaneers

Tom Brady started the game and it was the Patriots in control from the get-go as they defeated Tampa Bay on their own field 31-14 Thursday night.

Tom Brady and several other Patriots' starters played the majority of the first half against Tampa Bay on Thursday night. Chad Ochocinco also caught his first pass and touchdown in a Patriots uniform. Here's a quarter by quarter breakdown. 1st Quarter On the first series of the game, Jerod Mayo and the Patriots forced Tampa to go 3 and out.   On the first offensive series, Tom Brady completed his first pass of the preseason to Wes Welker.  A couple plays later, Danny Woodhead busted through the Tampa Defense on a 28 yard run.   Two plays after that, Brady fired a 17 yard touchdown pass to Aaron Hernandez.  It capped a 5 play, 64 yard drive for the Pats, and it took them a mere 2 minutes and 8 seconds to score on the Bucaneers. Pats Training Camp Report: Patriots Get Ready to Rumble

With the first pre-season game of 2011 Thursday night at Gillette, the Patriots make several changes this past week, tightening up their roster as they move towards the season opener.

The New England Patriots made several moves over the past week, beefing up their potential pass rush core, and at the same time, releasing several players as the 2011 season opener creeps closer each week. With the truncated camp and non-existent off-season, the Pats sense of urgency to make moves and expand their arsenal was dialed up several notches as they approached the pre-season opener against Jacksonville. The Patriots work at training camp showed as they defeated Jacksonville, 47 to 12. Another announcement from the team came with a heavy heart as it was announced that the Patriots will honor the late Myra Kraft with a patch on their uniform that bears her initials.  The "MHK" patch will don the jerseys of all the players on the …
