Kraft Group Presents Plans to Expand Patriot Place

Plan calls for a second hotel, “quick serve” restaurant and “daily needs” retailer to be constructed on a six-acre section (currently used for parking) adjacent to Patriot Place's North Marketplace.

Expressing a desire to expand its business opportunities at Patriot Place, Kraft Group representatives unveiled plans to the planning board Thursday to add a second hotel, “quick-serve” restaurant and a “daily needs” retailer adjacent to Route 1 complex's North Marketplace. Dan Krantz, the Kraft Group’s director of site development, briefed the board Thursday on plans to develop an approximately 4,500 square foot "quick-serve restaurant," a 14,000 to 16,000 square foot “daily needs retailer," and a 125 to 150-room hotel in the parking lot adjacent to Route 1 just south of the existing Renaissance Hotel. In an open letter to the town, The Kraft Group asks residents to let their elected officials know if they support the Town and The Kraft Group working together "to do more for Foxborough."

Editor's note: The following open letter was submitted for publication by The Kraft Group. In 2007, we worked in partnership with the Town of Foxborough to develop Patriot Place. We promised a development that would add to the quality of life for residents by attracting world class healthcare, lodging, dining, entertainment and shopping while adding millions annually to the Town’s revenue base. We have delivered on all of those goals, and we continue to attract sought-after businesses to Foxborough, as evidenced by last week’s opening of one of the largest Trader Joe’s in the Northeast. I was at the brig hams for physical therapy and could watch the patriots practice. I was thinking oh what a view. And oh what a great man mr. Kraft was for giving this for the town. Then. I went to trader joes and thought the same thing. I also went to the fourth of July fireworks at pp and thought the same thing. Selectmen Want Kraft Organization to Present Plans for Rte 1 Development at Next Meeting

Foxborough’s Board of Selectmen has invited representatives from the Kraft Organization to attend the Sept. 18 meeting to discuss and present potential development plans at Patriot Place and along Route 1.

Members of the Foxborough Board of Selectmen want to hear from representatives of the Kraft Organization regarding plans for potential development and expansion at Patriot Place and along Route 1 before the town moves forward in negotiations. “I would like the Kraft Organization to come in here and present to us what their plans are for Route 1,” said Foxborough Board of Selectmen chair James DeVellis at Tuesday’s meeting. “Liquor licenses, zoning, housing, billboards … so we can hear it and say ‘that’s great, we’ll buy into it tomorrow’ or ‘we have apprehension’ or ‘go to other boards and come back to us in a year after you’ve heard from them.’” The board agreed with DeVellis’ suggestion following a 35-minute discussion on the town’s need…
