Patch & AOL Send Hurricane Sandy Relief Trucks to New Jersey, Long Island

Employees help out, and you can, too

It's been said it's far better to have a neighbor who's near, than a brother who's far away, but in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Americans across the nation have proven to be the best neighbors and the strongest of families. Last weekend, AOL and Patch employees took an opportunity to pitch in, packing two tractor trailers worth of food, water and supplies in Dulles, VA, and Baltimore. The donations are headed to Hurricane Sandy ravaged areas in New Jersey and Long Island. Want to join the relief efforts? Click here to donate: https://donate.networkforgood.org/aol "When a catastrophe of this size hits, we all feel it, both the hundreds of us who live in the impacted towns, and our colleagues who are watching and wishing they could help …

Why Does Foxborough Patch Look Different?

Site undergoes some minor cosmetic changes.

No, you're not losing it! Patch looks different these days. We did a quick visual nip-and-tuck to the homepage to make it even more user-friendly. And we've moved a couple pieces of furniture. For those keeping score:  * We tweaked some words in our navigation bar to save space (e.g., "Traffic & Gas" is now "Commute")  * We moved the weather icon next to the Patch branding so you can find it more quickly!  * We moved, well, YOU closer to the top! (Our "shout stream" is now front and center to show all your comments off.)  * And of course we prettified a few things.  While the site might look a little different today, we still offer the same robust coverage of everything happening in your community. That was, is, and will always be our …

Best of Patch

Tell us what your favorite businesses are and then vote for them in the Best of Patch, starting next week.

Patch is unveiling Best of Patch next week, which will allow readers to vote for their favorite businesses and places in town. Each Monday morning, we will post an article with a poll and ask readers to take part by voting in the poll and posting reviews on those businesses’ directory listings on Patch. Because polls are not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch. On Friday morning, we will announce the winner of the Best Of contest for that week. For our first Best of Patch next week, we will ask you: Where is the best place to get fit? Check back next week and vote…

Businesses: Claim Your Listing on Patch

Business owners are encouraged to claim listings in Patch Places to better promote their business and inform Foxborough Patch readers. It's free. And we'll write about you.

Now, one year later, Patch places is a spot where users can find descriptions, hours, accepted payment methods, and much more for spots around town. All users can add events taking place at local spots, can rate the business on a scale of one to five stars, and can add a review. But owners of local businesses get extra bonuses when they claim a listing. Owners or managers should search for their business listing and select "claim you listing" in order to make updates to the page. A form will pop up asking for your name, contact information, and proof of ownership. Within a few days, someone…
