Norfolk County D.A. Offers Grants to Towns for Safe Graduation Events

Last year, the office of Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey awarded grants to all school districts that applied for support for safe and substance-free graduation events.

A request for grant applications was recently sent to all Norfolk County superintendents, offering to help purchase food, supplies, entertainment or other necessities. Norfolk County DA Offers Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Addiction Prevention Posters Online

Norfolk County DA Michael Morrissey has produced posters with domestic violence, sexual assault, substance abuse and prescription drug disposal resources for the Norfolk County region. They can be printed from the Media/Press section of www.norfolkda.com.

FRCS Senior Mary Daly Receives Leadership Award

Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey presents leadership award to Foxborough Regional Charter School senior Mary Daly.

District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey has presented Norton’s Mary Daly, a senior at the Foxborough Regional Charter School, one of the 23 Peer Leadership Recognition awards given county-wide for 2012. “The strength and health of school communities derives largely from the students who lead by example,” Morrissey said after presenting the award at his 2012 Peer Leadership Conference, held in Norwood recently. “Good teachers and thoughtful administrators are important, but it is students like Mary doing the work.” FRCS faculty member Josh Porter submitted Daly’s nomination at the beginning of October. “Mary is the complete package,” Porter wrote, citing her academic achievement, her presidency of the student council, position on the …

Norfolk D.A. to Offer Training for Establishments That Serve Alcohol

The training will be held for all owners and managers of such establishments on Nov. 2 at Patriot Place in Foxborough.

Foxborough Receives $2K School Security Grant from Norfolk County DA

Grant money will be used to purchase and install security cameras, digital recorder and monitor at Foxborough High School.

Norfolk County DA Offers Schools Up to $2K in Safety Grants and Training

The safety grants fund secure entry systems, intruder alarms, security monitors and other capital improvements to the schools.

Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey is starting the new school year by offering all of his communities, including Foxborough, up to $2,000 to make safety and security upgrades to their school facilities and inviting educators and administrators from across the county to his 2012 School Safety Summit in October. “Our school security grant program was very well received last year and we were able to fund projects in eight school districts to make their students safer,” Morrissey said. "Last year, we offered $3,000 matching fund grants to support larger projects. Drug Take-Back Container Now Available at Foxborough Police Department

Foxborough Police Chief Edward O’Leary and Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey say they will dispose of your un-used prescription drugs through the drug take-back container now at Foxborough Police Department.

If you have prescription drugs in your medicine cabinet that you no longer need, the Foxborough Police Department has a new drug take-back container – and you are invited to use it. “Prescription drugs, particularly opiate-based pain pills left over from injury, surgery or dental work look harmless sitting in your medicine chest, but we are finding that the opposite is true,” said Norfolk District Attorney Michael W.
