Patriots Playoff Tickets Go on Sale Monday

Tickets to the Jan. 13 AFC Divisional Playoff game in Foxborough go on sale to the general public on Monday, Jan. 7.

Hosting playoff games in Foxborough used to be rarity for the New England Patriots and its fans prior to the Robert Kraft era. In fact, the Patriots hosted just one playoff game in the first 34 years of the franchise's history - a loss to the Houston Oilers in 1978 - prior to Kraft buying the team in 1994. Since then, the Patriots have qualified for the playoffs 14 times, including 12 times as AFC East division champions. With a 12-4 regular season record in 2012, the Patriots claimed their fourth consecutive division title and enter this year’s playoffs as the second seed in the AFC. It is the fourth time in franchise history that the team has earned the second seed. What's better is that in three of those seasons the Patriots advanced to…

Patriots Hang On to Beat Bills on Veterans Day in Foxborough

The New England Patriots narrowly beat the Buffalo Bills, 37-31 Sunday at Gillette Stadium to improve to 6-3 this season.

It wasn't pretty but the New England Patriots did just enough to come away with a 37-31 victory over the Buffalo Bills Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium. Patriots' defensive back Devin McCourty intercepted a Ryan Fitzpatrick pass in the end zone on the Bills' final drive to preserve a 37-31 victory. Tom Brady threw two touchdown passes, Stevan Ridley and Danny Woodhead ran for a score each and Stephen Gostkowski converted all three of his field goal attempts. The Patriots (6-3) host the 6-3 Indianapolis Colts next Sunday at 4:25 p.m. Here's a compilation of game notes from Sunday's victory in Foxborough, courtesy of the Patriots Media Relations Department. PHOTOS: Patriots Escape Jets with 29-26 Overtime Win at Gillette Stadium

The New England Patriots blew another fourth quarter lead Sunday but rallied to win in overtime and take sole possession of first place in the AFC East.

NOTE: View the photo gallery above for scenes from Sunday's 29-26 Patriots' overtime victory at Gillette Stadium. It looked as if the New England Patriots were once again headed down a road becoming all too familiar this season when the New York Jets rallied from a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter to take a 26-23 lead with 1:37 left to play. But Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady reminded the NFL why he is one of the most clutch players in league history, orchestrating the game-tying drive at the end of regulation - a 43-yard field goal by Stephen Gostkowski – and the eventual game-winning drive in overtime - a 48-yard field goal by Gostkowski. The game-winning drive was Brady's 35th of his career. While Brady and the Patriots offense …

GAME NOTES: Patriots Lose First Home Opener Since 2001; Welker Breaks Franchise Record

The New England Patriots lost to the Arizona Cardinals 20-18 Sunday at Gillette Stadium.

Despite all the mistakes, the New England Patriots were in a position to win its 11th consecutive home opener at Gillette Stadium in the closing seconds of Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. But it wasn’t that kind of day for the Patriots – though it appeared to be in the final minute of New England’s loss. Leading 20-18, the Cardinals were attempting to run out the clock with less than two minutes to play but running back Ryan Williams fumbled at Arizona’s 30-yard line and the ball was recovered by Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork. Trailing by two points with a minute to go, the Patriots’ offense took the field and appeared to score on a 30-yard Danny Woodhead run but was called back on a Rob Gronkowski holding penalty. …

Those tickets, like in years past, can be picked up with proof of residency at Foxborough’s Town Hall, the senior center or the Foxborough Public Safety Building. Last year’s event drew a crowd of 18,334 – the largest ever to attend an in-stadium practice.
