The Boston College baseball team upset Virginia Tech Sunday at home.
The Boston College baseball team used a four-run rally in the eighth inning to come back and defeat 25th-ranked Virginia Tech, 5-3, on Sunday afternoon at Eddie Pellagrini Diamond at Commander Shea Field. Before the start of the game, seven seniors were recognized for their careers in the Maroon and Gold. Red-shirt senior Nate Bayuk of Foxborough faced one batter in the ninth inning before Norwood's John Gorman came on in relief to get his second save of the season. This season, Bayuk, a lefthander, has made 23 appearances, allowing one home run with a 5.40 ERA and 11 strikeouts. In the final game of the Boston College baseball season, Foxborough's Nate Bayuk didn't allow a hit or walk and didn't walk a batter in two innings of work in the Eagles' 14-2 win over Duke in the final game of the 2012 season. The Eagles ended with a 22-33 overall record and went 10-20 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The senior lefthander also struck out seven batters. Before the game, the Eagles honored their seniors in the program for their contributions to the program. Bayuk finished the season with a 1-2 record in 12 relief appearanced with a 4.02 earned run average. He had 22 strikeouts in 15.2 innings and only walked four batters.

Foxborough's Nate Bayuk picked up his first win of the season as the Boston College baseball team split a doubleheader with No. 14-ranked Georgia Tech squad at Eddie Pellagrini Diamond at Shea Field, Saturday. The Eagles fell to 9-13 overall and 2-7 Atlantic Coast Conference. BC fell to Georgia Tech, 2-1, in the second game after winning the first game, 4-3. Bayuk (1-1) tallied his first win of the season in the opener, pitching 1.1 innings in the first game. He did not allow a hit, run or walk and struck out two, keeping the Jackets at bay.
