The New England Patriots (9-3) host the AFC-leading Houston Texans (11-1) Monday night at Gillette Stadium. Kick-off is 8:30 p.m.

Foxborough is set to host a primetime NFL matchup Monday night when the New England Patriots (9-3) take on the AFC-leading Houston Texans (11-1) at Gillette Stadium on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. Monday night’s showdown in Foxborough will be the fourth time the Patriots and Texans meet since Houston entered the NFL in 2002 and for the first time since the 2009 regular-season finale when Houston took a 34-27 win on Jan. 3, 2010. New England is 2-1 against Houston in the regular season with wins in 2003 and 2006. Houston lost 47-7 on Dec. 17, 2006 in their first and only visit to Gillette Stadium. Brady Throws for 517 Yards, Patriots Defeat Miami

It was a shootout between Tom Brady and Chad Henne, but Brady's record night was too much for Miami to handle, as the Patriots win the 2011 season opener.

Forget about all the excuses that can be made before the beginning of the 2011 NFL season.  It was time for the New England Patriots to start their 2011 season.  So much has been made of the NFL lockout, and the domino effect it might have on the 2011 season. For some time, it looked as though every team in the National Football League would get a free pass if their opening game was lost. However, the New England Patriots came out Monday night ready to play and ready to win. The Dolphins also came out Monday night slinging, as Chad Henne led his team in a nearly 8 minute opening drive.
