Kraft Family's Pledge to One Fund Boston Nets $617K in One Week

In just 72 hours, fans meet Kraft family's challenge to raise $100,000 for victims of the Boston Marathon victims.

One day after the tragic attacks on the Boston Marathon, the Kraft family pledged to match the first $100,000 raised through donations to their charitable foundation for The One Fund Boston to aid hundreds of victims most affected by the bombings. Less than three days later, contributions by New England Patriots and New England Revolution fans exceeded that total. Since then, the National Football League Foundation, Major League Soccer, the Major League Soccer Players Union and the tenants of Patriot Place have each pledged generous donations to the cause through the teams’ charitable foundations. With recent pledges of significant personal donations from Kraft family friends Roger Stone and Ron Perelman, along with an additional pledge …

New England Patriots defensive back Devin McCourty says he will donate $100 per tackle, $200 per interception to Boston Marathon relief efforts.

The New England Patriots continue to rally around the city of Boston in the wake of Monday’s tragedy through pledges to help the victims of the Marathon bombings. On Wednesday, another New England Patriot announced he plans to use the upcoming NFL season as a way to raise funds for the victims of Monday’s deadly attacks. Defensive back Devin McCourty announced on Twitter he will join new teammate Danny Amendola in using personal statistics as a way to donate to Marathon victim relief efforts. “Like Amendola I will donate $100 for each tackle made and $200 for every [interception] made in 2013-14 season to the victims of the Boston bombing - (D-Mac),” McCourty said via his Twitter handle, @McCourtyTwins. I recently saw a rather funny tweet directed towards McCourty...it was something to the effect of asking him if he'd donate $500 for every time he was called for Pass interference for not turning around....$500 for every time he got burnt on a deep pass play and $1000 for every time he got burnt for a TD....Now that to me is funny....hey..if you're going to donate...donate with a cause!! Patriots Honor First Responders from Newtown Police Department

Fourteen heroes from the Newtown, Conn. Police Department, including each of the first responders to Sandy Hook Elementary School, were guests of the Kraft family for last Sunday's playoff game at Gillette Stadium.

It’s been just over a month since the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. shocked the nation but the memory of the 26 dead, including 20 children, lives on in Foxborough. The New England Patriots still wear the black-ribbon decals they donned prior to their Dec. 16th game against the San Francisco 49ers for Newtown, Conn. This past Sunday, the Kraft family invited 14 New England heroes from the Newtown, Conn. Police Department to attend the Patriots’ AFC Divisional Round game vs. the Houston Texans. The 14 Newtown, Conn. police officers and first responders responded to one of the worst tragedies in American history as it was unfolding on Dec. 14, 2012. The 14 heroes were introduced on the field prior to last …

If the MIAA again asks the Board Of Selectman to waive the ticket fee, we should agree ONLY if the MIAA will allow all fees collected at Foxboro High School sporting events to be kept by the town for our Turfs Up Field project. No other town in Mass donates as much as we do to the MIAA, and we can't even raise enough for a field turf. Hold their feet to the coals Selectman, and lets get this …   more ›

Casino Zoning Changes Drafted by Kraft Lawyer [POLL]

Foxborough's Town Manager Kevin Paicos asked for the changes. Board of Selectmen voted 5 to 0 against bringing the zoning change to Town Meeting.

A draft of zoning changes for Foxborough by a lawyer for the Kraft Group is raising the idea that the Kraft family could play a role in the State's gambling plans, the Boston Globe reports. A lawyer for the Kraft Group drafted zoning changes for the town that would have paved the way for casino gambling. The zoning changes were then submitted to Foxborough's Town Manager, Kevin Paicos. Paicos requested the changes and brought the issue to the Board of Selectmen and the town's Planning Board. The Board of Selectmen voted 5 to 0 in September against bringing the zoning change to Town Meeting. The Krafts have not ruled out possible interest in a casino, however it would be an uphill battle for the owners of the New England Patriots …

I am more concerned right now with the topic that should be more important to all the residents in town.....the push for $500k that Mr Pacios wants for the plans to be drawn up for a new Town Hall. We should all be asking the question "why pay out $500k for plans for TH that we don't know how it will be paid for OR even when it would be built. People get to the STM scheduled for Dec. This is a no…   more ›
