After nearly two-and-a-half hours of discussion in executive session Wednesday, Foxborough’s Board of Selectmen emerged with a decision regarding the status of Town Manager Kevin Paicos’ contract. “The Foxborough Board of Selectmen and Town Manager Kevin Paicos have mutually agreed not to pursue a contract for Mr. Paicos to serve as the Foxborough town manager beyond June 30, 2014,” said BOS chair Mark Sullivan. … “That’s all we have.” The board promptly adjourned following Sullivan’s announcement. Foxborough Town Manager Kevin Paicos will make $151,286.40 in fiscal year 2014 after the town’s Board of Selectmen awarded him with a 2 percent increase Tuesday.
After two years of no salary increases, Foxborough Town Manager Kevin Paicos is getting a raise. The town’s Board of Selectmen voted unanimously Tuesday to give the third-year town manager a 2 percent increase, which will net Paicos a salary of $151,286.40 in fiscal year 2014 – effective July 1. Selectmen determined Paicos’ performance in FY13 met the board’s expectations and on Tuesday, decided that performance warranted a 2 percent increase in salary. Tuesday’s salary review was the third component in the review process of the town manager’s performance, as required by his contract. Adam Paicos lost his job as a State Trooper after driving the wrong way on Memorial Drive in Cambridge.
The Massachusetts State Police announced Wednesday the termination of Easton native and the son of Foxborough Town Manager Kevin Paicos. Adam Paicos is a graduate of Oliver Ames High School. His father, Kevin, is now the Town Manager in Foxborough. The son of Foxborough Town Manager Kevin Paicos, state Trooper Adam Paicos, is under investigation for four incidents, including allegedly driving the wrong way on Memorial Drive in Cambridge.
Massachusetts State Trooper Adam Paicos, son of Foxborough Town Manager Kevin Paicos, was put on restrictive duty last week while he is investigated for several incidents. One incident includes allegations that Adam Paicos drove the wrong way on Memorial Drive in Cambridge on April 3 in his personal vehicle, according to Fox 25. A statement from the Massachusetts State Police Department Tuesday said there were four incidents, including the April 3 incident, that are subject of review, all of which occurred within the last several weeks. National Grid gives a progress update; town receives check for $100,000
At Tuesday night’s meeting, the Foxborough Board of Selectmen met with representatives from National Grid for an update on the progress in the area since last year’s storms. Dave Laliberte from the Foxborough Parks and Trees Division and Roger Hill from the Foxborough Department of Public Works have worked closely with National Grid on the matter and spoke at the meeting as well. Laliberte said National Grid has implemented a “Hazardous Tree Mitigation” program throughout the area, and added that he thought they were “doing a great job” clearing hazardous trees, noting there have been three to eight National grid crews in town every day. Once again, the Foxborough Memorial Day Parade was held Monday morning at the Common.
Once again, the town of Foxborough gathered at the Common for the Memorial Day parade to honor those who have served and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice serving their country. Prior to the speeches, veterans, elected officials, local scouts, and the Foxborough High School marching band took part in the annual parade that stared at the American Legion and ended in the Common. As the speaking portion of the ceremonies began, Rev. William Dudley spoke of the sacrifice made by those in uniform. “It’s unbelievable the price that has been paid that we might be free. Our freedom was purchased and still is by those who have bravely defended us at a great cost to themselves,” the pastor of the Union Church of South Foxboro said before …

Foxborough board of selectmen proposed looking at the town manager role and educating the town on the responsibilities outline in the charter.
Looking at the strong manager act is something the Foxborough selectmen are prepared to tackle. Foxborough Town Manager Kevin Paicos says he welcomes a review of the strong town manager act, which he refers to as the charter. "I really applaud the board for doing this," he said. Paicos said the topic of how town managers conflicts with boards is a subject topic at their conferences, but he says he doesn't feel it's a problem in Foxborough. The Foxborough selectmen meetings have become too big for the town hall meeting room.
Foxborough selectmen meetings have much too big the town hall meeting room. With several big issues expected to be on the upcoming agendas, selectmen say they will have to look for bigger venues or postpone their meetings when an overflowing crowd shows up and can't be able to fit into the meeting room. At that point, if they don't cancel or they don’t move their meeting, they will also be in violation of the opening meeting law. All residents have to be allowed to attend meeting or it has to be postponed. Town manager Kevin Paicos said selectmen inadventently violated the open meeting law at their March 27 meeting.
