Public Safety Officials Look to Improve Traffic Flow, Reduce Custodies at 2013 Country Fest

Foxborough public safety officials are working with Gillette Stadium management on several initiatives to improve crowd safety and the overall impact Country Fest has on the community.

Last summer, Foxborough Police made over 100 arrests and reported over 600 incidents over a two-day span during the 2012 New England Country Music Festival at Gillette Stadium. Kenny Chesney told 102.5's JW & Lori that playing in Foxborough is "very special" and he's "very excited" to be returning to Gillette Stadium in August 2013 for two country music concerts.

It's no secret country music star Kenny Chesney loves performing in Foxborough as he has sold out Gillette Stadium annually for nearly a decade. On Dec. 7, Chesney shared his affection for Foxborough and his New England fans with 102.5's JW & Lori during a morning interview with the Boston radio station to promote his "No Shoes Nation" Tour, which will stop at Gillette Stadium on Aug. 23-24 in 2013. Country superstar Kenny Chesney will be bringing his "No Shoes Nation" Tour to Gillette Stadium in August for his eighth Country Fest performance. Tickets will be going on sale in December.

Kenny Chesney announced Thursday he will return to Gillette Stadium on Aug. 24, 2013, making a summer stop in Foxborough for the eighth time since 2006. Chesney has helped make the annual New England Country Music Festival at Gillette Stadium the largest concert series in New England, selling out Gillette Stadium each year from 2006 to 2009, and then again for two nights each in 2011 and 2012. He has played more shows at the stadium, which opened in 2002, than any other artist.
