Did the wrath of this two-day storm surprise you?
Did anyone see this coming? The slow moving, two-day storm was originally expected to drop just 3 to 5 inches of snow in the Foxborough area but an updated forecast Thursday morning showed accumulation could total closer to 6 to 7 inches. As of Thursday night, that forecast was increased to 10 to 14 inches before the storm's conclusion Friday. Didn't happen that way. Meteorologists were left scrambling to update weather maps and snowfall totals while the snow continued to pile up in Foxborough. The Gem of Norfolk County was once again smack dab in the middle of a storm. NOTE: The following are unofficial snowfall observations for the Feb. 8-9, 2013 snowstorm that hit Southern New England. The Blizzard of 2013 hit the region with one of the top six snowstorms ever recorded in the area and Foxborough was in the snow "jackpot" of the storm. So how much did we get in the Gem of Norfolk County? According to the National Weather Service, Foxborough received the most snowfall in Norfolk County with 29 inches flat. Milton was the next highest in the county with 28. Ironically, our neighbors in Sharon received the least amount of snow in the county with just 15.
