5 Things to Know About Monday's Patriots Game vs. Houston Texans at Gillette Stadium

The New England Patriots (9-3) host the AFC-leading Houston Texans (11-1) Monday night at Gillette Stadium. Kick-off is 8:30 p.m.

Foxborough is set to host a primetime NFL matchup Monday night when the New England Patriots (9-3) take on the AFC-leading Houston Texans (11-1) at Gillette Stadium on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. Monday night’s showdown in Foxborough will be the fourth time the Patriots and Texans meet since Houston entered the NFL in 2002 and for the first time since the 2009 regular-season finale when Houston took a 34-27 win on Jan. 3, 2010. New England is 2-1 against Houston in the regular season with wins in 2003 and 2006. Houston lost 47-7 on Dec. 17, 2006 in their first and only visit to Gillette Stadium. The Patriots claimed a 23-20 overtime win in their first trip to Reliant Stadium on Nov. 23, 2003. The teams last met in the 2009 regular-season…

New England Patriots' First Playoff Game Jan. 14

After getting the top seed in the AFC playoffs, the Patriots will have a break until Jan. 14.

With the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs, the New England Patriots won't be in action until Saturday, Jan. 14, in the 8 p.m. game on CBS. New England will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Patriots won't know who they will play until next weekend, but it could be Cincinnati, Denver or Pittsburgh as they will play the lowest seed remaining after the first round action. Cincinnati will be playing at Houston Saturday at 4:30 p.m. on NBC, while Pittsburgh will be at Denver Sunday at 4:30 p.m. on CBS. Looking ahead, the AFC Championship game is scheduled for Jan. 22 at 3 p.m. on CBS.
