Warriors Hockey Ends Season Against Medway

Aiden Campbell had a goal for the Warriors, but it was not enough as Medway beat Foxborough, 6-1, in the preliminary round of the MIAA Division 3 South Sectional tournament.

For the first time since 2008, the Foxborough Warriors had a chance to play postseason hockey. Entering the MIAA Division 3 South Sectional tournament seeded at No. 23, it was not going to be an easy task to take down No. 10 Medway in the preliminary round. For a Warrior team that only won five games last season, getting to the tournament was an accomplishment in itself. Unable to keep up with the Medway Mustangs, the Warriors’ season ended with a 6-1 defeat at the Bridgewater Ice Arena Wednesday. The Mustangs’ offense was too much for the Warriors as both Jake O’Rourke and Tim King had a two goal game. O’Rourke initially put the Mustangs up 1-0 at 7:15 of the opening period with a shot right in front of the net with the assist going to …

The whole team from both goaltenders to the last forwards out there.” Foxborough head coach Jim Genovese said. The Warriors defeated the Minuteman Regional High School Mustangs 9-2 to get the victory on Senior Night. Foxborough winger Owen Campbell put the Warriors on top scoring three goals in the opening period. The first goal came off a pass across the slot from Greg Stamatov at 6:21 of the first period. Foxborough Hockey Earns Win Against Tri-County Millis

The Warriors overcome a 2-2 tie to win ,5-2. Owen Campbell had two goals. Scott McDonald had a goal and an assist.

With only one period left to play, the Foxborough Warriors’ hockey team already experienced a period where they outshot Tri-County-Millis and took the lead and another period where they gave up a two goal lead. Tied 2-2 with 15 minute to play, the Warriors lit up TCM with a three goal period to erase the doubts of the second period. “We were confident going in the third. The guys came out and showed what real teams are made of and put them away in the third. That’s what we need going forward,” Foxborough coach Jim Genovese said. Taking back the lead after initially leading 2-0, the Warriors defeated Tri-Country-Millis, 5-2, in an important Division 3 matchup for the Warriors. The Warriors wasted no time setting up shop in front of the TCM …

The Foxborough boys' ice hockey team defeated Stoughton Saturday night, 5-2. Coming into the game, the Warriors had lost 29 consecutive contests, including a 9-2 defeat against Stoughton, just over three weeks ago.  “For the second straight game we didn’t show up to play and we now have put ourselves in a deep hole for any chance to qualify for the (post-season) tournament,” said Stoughton coach Dan Mark. “Foxboro deserves a lot of credit. They always battle and have never quit, and finally got a well-deserved win and I’m real happy for them.” Foxboro coach Jim Genovese is in his fourth year at the helm of the Warriors.
