Annual Review of Town Manager Under Way as Paicos Details FY13 Accomplishments

Foxborough Town Manager Kevin Paicos provided selectmen with his self-assessment of goals, objectives and accomplishments over the past fiscal year.

The annual review of Foxborough Town Manager Kevin Paicos got under way this week with the town official providing selectmen a self-assessment of his goals and objectives over the past year. Paicos submitted a five-page document detailing accomplishments he said were the result of a team effort approach at Town Hall. “It’s very important that everybody understands that I don’t do anything alone,” Paicos told selectmen Tuesday. “Everything that gets accomplished around here is a composite of a whole bunch of people’s work. It’s very hard for me to write a document that says here’s what I did.” Specifically, Paicos credited the work of the town’s department heads for the result of many of the listed accomplishments. “I will tell you that we …

Around Town: Foxborough Emergency Response Groups Seeking Volunteers; National Grid Approved for Work on Belcher Road

Foxborough Citizen Corps is seeking volunteers to be part of the town’s emergency preparedness response groups. “You do not have to be a medical professional to be involved,” said Foxborough Board of Selectmen chair James DeVellis. “Two free classes are coming up. The first one is Monday, April 1 and the second one is Monday, April 8. Foxborough Selectmen Deem Dog on Fairway Lane Dangerous After Bite Incident

The Bullmastiff must now wear a muzzle whenever he leaves the Fairway Lane property after biting an adult male in February.

Foxborough’s Board of Selectmen deemed “Rufus,” a Bullmastiff on Fairway Lane, dangerous following a biting incident in February that sent an adult male to Brigham and Women’s Urgent Care at Patriot Place.  The decision came following a public hearing with Foxborough Animal Control Officer Sue Thibedeau and the dog’s owner, David Seerman. During the hearing, Thibedeau reported to selectmen that she was notified by Brigham and Women’s Urgent Care in February that an adult male had been bitten by a dog on Feb. 21. That dog, Rufus, has belonged to David and Donna Seerman for 18 months and lives with them at their Fairway Lane home. “Seerman was out walking Rufus when he did bite the person,” Thibedeau said. “The dog was on lead at the time. …

First Day to Pull Nomination Papers in Foxborough is Today

The first day to pull nomination papers in Foxborough for May's Town Election is today, who would you like to see run for town offices?

Foxborough residents interested in getting involved in local government can now pull nomination papers for a town office position in advance of May’s annual town election. There will be 14 town office positions on May's town election ballot, according to Foxborough Town Clerk Robert E. Cutler, Jr. Nomination papers, which can be picked up at Town Hall, must be submitted to Town Hall no later than March 18 at 5 p.m. The election is scheduled for May 6. Jake n JOES Sports Grille took another important step toward opening its Foxborough location Tuesday when the town’s Board of Selectmen issued the restaurant two entertainment licenses. Jake n JOES is now licensed for seven-day entertainment and public entertainment on Sundays at its 25 Foxborough Blvd. location. Entertainment permitted at the Foxborough sports grille will be the use of radio, TV (widescreen and cable) amplifiers and occasionally various instrumental music. Jake n JOES license applications showed the sports grille will occasionally have DJ and 2-3-piece band entertainment.
