Jack Toursiello and his father, Ezio, have worked side-by-side for more than a decade in Foxborough.
Jack and his father, Ezio Toursiello, have been working together at Antonia’s in Foxborough for about a decade. Jack said they’ve been doing great work with their restaurant. “Antonia’s started with my mother, Antonia,” he said. “It started as a part-time job, working for the previous owners. We bought it about a year later.” Toursiello said his father started Antonia’s in 1999, and he came on full-time after college in 2003. During school, he worked in an office job. “I didn’t have enough time not to like it,” he said. Toursiello recalled cooking was a very important part of his family’s life while growing up. “We never ate out and we were always very involved in food,” he said. “My mom was a stay-at-home mom at the time and I picked up a…

Primo's Sandwich Shop has been serving patrons in downtown Foxborough for 25 years.
Chris Gunn never intended to open a Foxborough sandwich shop, but 25 years later, he’s still going strong. “It’s a tough business, I knew coming in,” he said. Gunn said he started 25 years ago at Primo's current location and he’s never looked back. He said originally, when he got out of college, he was working for an aviation company when a friend came to him with a business idea. “He was the entrepreneur type,” Gunn said of his friend. Gunn said he knew the risks of opening a small business and recalled that at the time, about 50 percent of restaurants closed within the first year. If the restaurant was fortunate enough to survive the first year, it was 75 percent more likely to close in the second. “I was very fortunate to have good …

Patch recently caught up with Wrentham resident June Brady-Wooding, the owner/founder of Fanautical at Patriot Place to learn more about her fun-loving/unique clothing store and hear how she overcame a rare form of bone cancer five years ago.
In 2005, Wrentham resident June Brady-Wooding's world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer just eight months after giving birth to her second child. “Through that whole process – a two-year period – I was in bed and it was really intense and I had surgery,” Brady-Wooding said. “It wasn’t a good outlook.” Doctors had little research on the cancer, telling Brady-Wooding only 200 people a year are diagnosed with her form of bone cancer. But despite the bleak outlook, Brady-Wooding overcame the odds and has been cancer free since 2007. “I never thought, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to die,’” Brady-Wooding said. “I never thought ‘poor me.’ All I thought of was the end gain. The end gain to me was no matter what…

Tastings Wine Bar & Bistro at Patriot Place has been recognized for having one of the “Top 100 Most Notable Wine Lists in the United States” as part of OpenTable’s 2012 Diners’ Choice Awards. According to OpenTable, the California-based provider of online restaurant reservations, the list reflects the combined opinions of more than 5 million reviews submitted by diners for more than 15,000 restaurants in the country. Tastings is one of just two Massachusetts restaurants and four in New England to receive the recognition. “We are thrilled and humbled to once again be selected by OpenTable diners as having one of the best wine lists in the country,” said Patti Martin, Tastings’ owner. “We put a lot of effort, pride and passion into the …

Patch recently caught up with Foxborough resident Trish Matthies, the owner of The Healing Moon Wellness Center on School Street to learn more about her business and what she offers to the community. Here’s what she had to say.
Foxborough resident Trish Matthies first began practicing reiki because she wanted to help people and has turned that devotion into a unique small business venture in town. “I recognized I had a sensitivity to emotions and was able to feel people's hurts, anger or stress,” Matthies said. “However, being able to sense these emotions or imbalances was not enough. I wanted to help people live healthier, happier lives with peace and balance. I truly wanted to make a difference.” So Matthies created The Healing Moon, which offers reiki, meditation, massage therapy, Thai yoga massage, yoga, workshops, spiritual counseling and readings for “those who wish to replenish their energy and restore balance to their lives.” Matthies, a lifelong resident…

After three years of business, Mustard Seeds Antiques on Central Street will be closing at the end of October.
Three years ago, lifelong Foxborough resident Sandy Ivatts opened a small business on Central Street because she loved antiques and thought she could bring something unique to the downtown. “I wanted to see a different type of a shop as opposed to the typical businesses in the area,” said Ivatts. So Ivatts opened Mustard Seeds Antiques at 4A Central St. to bring her passion to life in a quaint downtown shop filled with antiques, reproductions, candles and gifts. Business was good in the beginning. “I read in the Bible if you have faith the size of a mustard seed you can move mountains and that’s where [the shop’s name] came from,” Ivatts said. … “In the first two years I did fabulous but in this last year it’s been tough.” The tough year …

Antonia's, in the Foxfeild Plaza, is literally right behind me. I have met Ezio, Antonia, & Jack and they are great people who make great food. They have the best pizza around. I would like to put a gate in the perimeter fence to make delivery quick & easy, or they could just toss the food over the fence...........Jack R.   more ›
